STD Bank confiscates my bet365 winning ...says illegal

I won R4300 on bet365 recently and withdrew the money to my Std Bank account. Their Foreign Exchange control department confiscated the money and paid it to National Gambling Board. I phone National Gambling Board and they say jail awaits anyone doing offshore gambling.

What a farg up, I would have thought Std bank would have been very happy to deduct their forex fee (R130) and let me be

you do need an account outside of south africa ,but nowadays it is very difficult to open .The Rand is not considered to be an international currency with exchange control regulations still in place,sounds strange but is true,what you need is an overseas credit card ,but easier said than done. .

So you mean I can't go to Swaziland produce my passport, ID etc and open an account at a bank there ?

Just bumping up if someone has an answer for me i.e Can you get a Swaziland/Lesotho bank account with just you ID & Passport or do you need to be employed/studying over there

go to a site called SKRILL,,....OPEN an account there...and deposit money into skrill....then pay bet 365 from your skrill account....when u want to withdraw...bet 365 also pays back into your skrill acc.,then transfer from your skrill acc to your std bank acc...easy...no problems....the problem i have is that i cant open a betfair or batdaq account because i am a southafrican resident...if your 365 acc is still opened and active SKRILL IS THE ANSWER
