SAF interest in Singapore Gold Cup
12 years 7 months ago
Two runners with a South African interest take their place in the Longines Singapore Gold Cup G1 (2200m) which is run on Sunday 11 November (11h55 SA time).
Flax, recent winner of the Raffles Cup (G1) is the top weight and Lizarre, a name familiar to South African racing, has the light weight of 50 kg and has drawn pole position - sure Patrick Shaw is hoping to see this gelding come back to his best.
Joao Moreira who you'll be seeing in South Africa next weekend rides the talented Deep Pockets also with the light weight of 51 kg and a good draw.
Dennis and Gael Evans are still in town and I'm sure they'll be watching Flax with their hearts in their mouths hoping he can repeat his last run. He has a tough task at the weight as he is a little horse but with a big heart and I hear he's work has been impeccable.
The last four runners are all emergency acceptors.
Happy racing to you all!
