Hollywood Deposits
12 years 7 months ago
Can anyone on the forum tell me why EFT deposits (in my case Standard Bank to Standard Bank) should take a minimum of 2 days to reflect on the bank statement of Hollywood. I have phoned Hollywood to check and they have confirmed that it is true.
I have used Hollywood almost exclusively until recently. I stopped because I have cut up all my credit cards and I am now using EFT and debit cards for purchases.
When a credit card was used previously, there was no problems with deposits. Deposits were reflected almost immediately into my betting account.
I have read many complaints on this site with similar issues that members have had and that is the reason i had avoided doing EFT transfers.
It is worth mentioning that I DO NOT have these problems with BW and WSB. Whenever an EFT is done to these bookmakers, my bank sends them a confirmation via either an SMS or an email stating that the transfer has been done.
Within a half an hour my betting accounts are credited. It is obvious that my account is credited because the EFT is reflected in their respective bank statements.
WHY IS THIS NOT POSSIBLE WITH HOLLYWOOD. Why should they be treated differently by the banks.
I make numerous EFT payments monthly. I bank with with Standard and if the payment recipient is a Standard Bank account holder he gets paid immediately ( the recipient usually confirms that with me). If it is any other bank then payment will reflect after 24 hours.
I am bewildered.
I am of the opinion that Hollywood does not look at their online statement every 30min and rather look at their statements every 24hr or 48 hrs.

If your current account is your cheque card account which I presume it is then you can transfer funds directly into Hollywood account or any other bookmaker site provided you have funds in your cheque card even if its in overdraft. Your funds will reflect immediately and its the same method as your credit card payment. Btw I use my Standard Bank cheque card most of the times to do the transfers. No need to do an EFT and then wait for the funds to clear.

I always do an EFT with Hollywood, then fill in the Bank Deposit Notifiation (on hollywood site). My balance reflects in 15 mins max. I bank with FNB. Never had any issues.

Correct. that is how it should be.
The person at Hollywood says minimum of 2 days.
Any way I will PM Hibs shortly and then wait for Hollywood"s call.

Thanks . Hollywood's customer care needs to be jacked up then.

I've had no problems with EFT's with BW and Betxchange. funds reflect within 10 mins. Sometimes less.
