ARLINGTON- Race 7, last Friday- Why Bother!?

With not knowing what to pick for almost this entire winter season I have being putting my punting on the back burner recently, if only 'just to feel like winning, when I'm not playing; aka- losing!'

So late on Friday I saunter into my local Tote, look at the local results for the day so far, and decide to bet my customary small punt on the 'feature' race. Results that far had been mostly non-favourites and I figured the fave in this one could do it considering it's form, C & D and all that sort of stuff...
Boy was I wrong! Because it was a small field the TRI & QT are not massive, but can anyone please tell me where that # 7 came from!? The 15/20-on favourite ran stone last and the first four past the post have only got one third and one fourth in their last 16 combined runs!!!???
FYI, that # 2 F had not been worse than 1, 2, or 3 in its last seven starts! I ask you?

I may seem to have all the time in the world doing these sort of blog postings, but I certainly do NOT have the time or inclination to try and sort out RUBBISH like this- can anyone please explain?

I had taken a win bet to (hopefully) win the R1.50/1.60 odd, and then backed that up with a boxed 5 horse QT hoping that if the fave did falter I would get a nice 30% with 2 roughies I put in. Suffice to say, 3 roughies came in (I did not have the 7!) and once again this small punter was off to the pub to spend it on something rewarding, rather than this KAK that never seems to offer any reward!

Happy braaing boys!

I didn't watch the race but considering the size of the field and that there was NO pace in the race, I would assume that pace had a large hand in the rough result.

The favorite likes it 10 furlongs at least and not having any pace in the race she was always going to be vulnerable.

Pace is my answer.

SP judging by your statement "I figured the fave in this one could do it considering it's form, C & D and all that sort of stuff" you are obviously TOTALLY reliant on betting to guide you and don't bother to study one bit of form, a very basic and stupid mistake that no doubt will continue to cost you money...apart from the fact that there had to be a huge ? regarding the distance (a point everybody apart from you picked up on) the horse performs way way better in the soft or yielding going ,was given an 8 point penalty for winning a race that has produced ZERO winners and 2 places from 18 subsequent runners and last won a race at the Arlington track carrying 57KG's in a MR 78...3 months and 1 win later you saunter into the tote and take R1.50/R1.60 a win on the horse carrying 59,5 in a MR 92 and then cant work out why it never won??? are you for real?????
keep on letting the bookies determine your bets for you if you will but why make an idiot out of yourself by broadcasting your obvious inability to read a race on its merits?...

small punter a fool and his money will soon be parted.this famous quote applies pretty well to pe racing.dont worry what the experts tell u abt form studying and all other crap because believe me in pe that means nothing because you can study all you like, factor in everything under the sun, make informed decisions and in the end you hv a 90%chance of being wrong.the form reversals in pe are so shocking its bordering on insanity.imo the best way to treat pe racing is to treat it like a lottery.ignore form, pick your lucky numbers and then at least you hv a chance to catch that elusive big payout that all punters are searching for.as for me iv given up the ghost of chasing that elusive big payout and rather punt on centres wher you hv a chance or even better betting on sports where you only hv yourself to blame if you make the wrong choices.

I thought Sylvan Wind was the right horse in the race as she was 2kg's better off with the original fav Rain Gal for a 2L beating and also 2kg's better off with Bella Aroma who she had beaten in their last start she also had Dance to the Stars ice cold with 9kg's for 5 L. actually the fact that Fly Emirates ran under 2,5 L behind the winner was a fair run all things considered
