Igugu could prove to be something special
My fav winners were Flaming Rock big double on same horse
Space Walk promoted to winner I was a bookie and the changed result paid for the pool
Igugu paid for a good July weekend and more
Also won on London News, Classic Flag,, Dynasty and Greys Inn so the July has been a good race to me.
Ilha Bela would make it better

Bold Silvano is the best, a Port Elizabeth horse won the country's most prestigious race.

El Picha second win was really special. Everything was against him. Young Rake was a whisker away from winning and El Picha with 60kg fought on gamely. That was also a strong field that year.

For me Dynasty the best July winner.
Ipi Tombe the most exciting, backed her and with 300 to go gave her no chance then exploded through the gap to win.

Although not in your time-frame, the year being 1978, undoubtedly the July win of the great Politician for me.
The way Bertie moved him up with 57kgs around the bend and hitting the front early, then holding off the strong challenge of
Beau Art despite shifting slightly under pressure, with an elated Bertie Hayden punching the air in delight.
I'm sure those old-timers who saw Sea Cottage get up to dead-heat with Jollify could rank that as one of the greatest July finishes
considering the diff in weights and that Sea Cottage raced with a bullet lodged in him.
