not trying to put anyone off their fancies for july, but u do realise that certain trainers are just not good enough to train a july winner, so look at backing any of the big cape stables with horses who hv a chance and only other trainer is mdk, because he can win with anything he wants to win with.rest of trainers are only making up the numbers just look at results of last 20 yrs and the picture will become clear as daylight.

Agree Agra,

This is Slacks year, Marcus did not give Ilha Bella a hard ride last week, plenty of improvement to come.

Del/De Kock to get 3 in a row X(

Can Karis Teetan on board Jackson make history by becoming the first Mauritian jockey ever to win a major race in this country. The odds are stacked against him, methinks!

The Paddock Stakes , Cape Derby and Daily News are major races in my book, all are Grp.1 WFA , the true test and not h'caps

" Winning the July was one of the most exciting days of my racing life.I was overcome by the moment and returned with tears in my eyes to the off-saddling enclosure in front of the grandstand.
I was dumbfounded. To me it was such an ambition to win the big race which to South Africa is like the Epsom Derby is to England, the Arc de Triomphe to France and the Melbourne Cup to Australia.
Quite honestly, deep down I thought it was never going to happen."

Michael "Muis the Ace " Roberts the 11 time S.A. champion and British champion jockey on winning the July at his 16th attempt on Mr.Paddy Hinton's SUPER QUALITY.

Karis Teetan one the best jockeys in the country. I watched him drive a horse to the finish line, he pushed the horses neck so far down towards the ground that he flew over the horses head, fortunately he was not injured. It was a Glen Kotzen's horse at Kenilworth. He is fearless and determine rider.

Agree Tero

In SA, the apprentice to watch is Donovan Dillon.

Take careful note when this lightie rides. Puts some of the seasoned boys to shame.

Hi Tero, that oom might be right. I have dreamt 4 july winners in the pas and by unfolding the dreams they were spot on. the first was EL picha 2years in a row, then Eye of the tiger and the best one was Big city live!

Maybe just dreams or maybe something els? I dont know but maybe there are some kind of link?

Just for bye the bye, Mary Slack has had only one runner ever in the July. That was Ilha da Vittoria who probably ran her worst race......

Trying Bravura again. Almost made a bit on the Met and Bravura didn't take to Joburg
Also sentimental place bet on PJ after all the drama with selling and buying him back
