dbn july betting

can any bookmaker (not sure if any are on the forum)explain to me as a betting man....how on earth they can price up JACKSON AT 3/1...3 MONTHS BEFORE THE JULY ....this has to be a joke....with so much unknown it should be closer to 7/1....telling u now...these bookies are clowns...and the bigger fool would be the punter taking this price now...

i wouldn't be even tempted to take jackson at 3/1 on july day....let alone 2 mnths prior...get real guys(bookies)....stop taking lliberties...an i say liberties...because after jackson being 7/1...the rest of the field needs to adjusted accordingly...and remeber its still ante post...its still in your favour(bookies) because it could still be a non runner....give us value please

RG interesting comments, let me start by saying at this stage not in the Jackson camp, but we would appear to have many posters that make it the champ or the race is Jackson or field?

The bookies have to make something fav and would guess that this horse is the logical fav.

I gather you are requesting a bigger price to have a punt? Or do u think it has no chance and would like to lay it at 7/1?

We do have bookies on the site, so maybe post your intentions and sure something could be arranged?

This July has very few older horses at there best. Igugu not running, PJ and Bravuru are not running well. DWTD will probably not stay or enjoy the short run in like in the Garden Province last year. Europa Point has shown that she is good but has beaten the other older horses mentioned and two long shots for the July from the Zackey yard.

This July seems at this stage points to a 3 year old and over more than 1800 meters Jackson seems to be the beat 3 year old colt at this stage and is a big talking horse. Ilha Bela could be the best 3 year old filly around but her Oaks win was over a second slower than the Derby.

IMO Jackson is worthy of his position at the top of the boards when considering he was having his first run back against a top miler and beat the winner of the 1600m Gauteng Guineau's by over 4 lenghts. I would not rush to take the 3/1 as there is plenty of racing to come before the July and he will carry 57kg's. If Jackson wins the Daily News by 6 lenghts he will be in the Red for the race despite the weight.

I will wait until closer to race day to have a bet but I feel if you are going to take something Ante Post you need to go for something at long odds that if winning a feature could shorten.

I don't think he can win..I thought his run to VC was a tad disappointing..he was making up no ground at all

Oscar, Jackson over 1600 metres (too short by a country mile) and against the best miler in SA (VC), not so bad a run imo....:S

scotia ..how's this for intentions....i am prepared to lay R100 000 OF JACKSON @7/2 to any bookmaker.....i will guarantee i will have not 1 taker....but they expect us to take 3/1 from them....my grouse is...not so much as we need something to be favourite but in an ante post scenario...they have to be more generous than that and take time to realise that....the punter here is taking a big risk...and that needs to be rewarded....

Greyville will not suit Jackson..3/1 is a ridiculous price...I would go with the best weighted 3 yr old so one has to wait a bit..RGuru you are correct..even if you went 4/1 they would not take it

predisely.....makes u wonder....this has to a sought of collusion....i really think thats its time to move on..and betting structures need to be modernised.....gone are the days where a CENTRAL COMMITTEE should dictate what the prices of horses should be,,,every bookie should bet according to his own books....thats why marshalls and BW are miles ahead....at marshalls u could get 15/10 off an eeven money shot,,,sometimes better...they bet according to how much they are holding ..and their liability....and bw price up themselves ...i dont know why they revert their prices to the committees....they should be independant
