GMTGL was unlucky in his bad run on the Highveld.. Bad draw, going didn't suit him and 2nd run on highveld..
We can put a line through that run..
Variety Club has proven time and time again he is the real deal, and as well Jackson showed his class when he won the Derby.
Pomodoro only bad run was da same day as GMTGL..
Can we add Princess Vic to the classy 3 o l list as well?? Ofcourse we can..

There is no doubt that this year's crop of 3yo's is very decent. The final proof will be how they do against the older horses in the KZN features, and of course what they do next year. Variety Club, Gimmethegreenlight and Silver Flyer are top milers; Jackson and Slumdog (unfortunately now out for the season) are exceptional 2000m colts, and there are a bunch of others not far behind them so the colts have strength in depth.
Princess V has dominated the fillies races up to a mile, and it is worth remembering that she was the first filly since the great Star Effort to do the Allan Robertson/ Golden Slipper double as a 2yo. Thunder Dance won the Paddock stakes beating the older fillies and mares, although obviously Igugu is a different class and missed that race. So, perhaps not the same depth amongst the fillies but the top few are well up to standard.
It is still premature to rate this crop- for example, Dancewiththedevil was no sort of 3yo, yet is now a champion mare.
