I've always wondered why that is Magic?

Tradition, I guess, Greg. I think a lot of previously closed races have been opened to geldings, but the real elite ones remain closed. I suppose they are considered tests for future breeding stock of either sex.

But the least said about that victory salute, the better. The lad can ride, but you have to agree with the on-course presenters.
