NHRA - PLODDING ON...

.
Well, it cant surely get any worse, the apparent nonchalant service provision in the stipes reports from NHRA and this past Tuesday's meeting refers.

On the day, a very nice filly from my yard was kicked behind the stalls, just before the start. The incident was seen by many jocks and handlers. The course vet examined the filly and decided that she was ok to run. Needless to say, we did not see the incident on TT.

But, as I know the filly very well, I was a bit alarmed when the Commentator announced that she was stubborn to load. During the race she was clearly not striding on her off fore. Luckily our jock loves his horses and clearly looked down at her off side and eased her down, not forcing her. He knows her and works her every day.

After the race, he reported the incident to myself and I went into the boardroom to protest the fact that the vet had made her run after being kicked

Now, let's look at it from the Owner's side. He sees his horse not striding and he sees the jock ease her out of the race. I call him after the race to tell him of the incident etc. To make matters worse, whilst I am in the boardroom, the filly coughs twice, which I dint hear. (my staff reported that to me that evening, so I sent a blood out on wed am, as virusses again doing rounds)

But, the stipes report only states "lame off fore, stubborn loading and coughing"absolutely NO MENTION of a kick behind the stalls and of the vet examining the filly.

So, what must my Owner now think?

Exactly Rob, we cant go on blaming the economy alone for the decline in local turnover, from which our stakes are derived.
We must surely, sometime, wake up and face the facts.

ABC should charge a subscriber fee and nominate mathew lips , craig eudey , louisg , hibernia , to challenge this lack of respect to the industry . by what louis says , he has been wronged and a platform should be created to help . not forgotten as it will rear it's ugly head again . we can consider ourselves a self-appointed body acting in the best interest of the punter with major players in the industry ( above ) leading our plight .

please please leave the nha and phumelela to run racing for us and stop the blaming because you loose your money. louis there is more excuses for losing in the game than you eat the breakfast be a good looser and stop blaming everyone for the bad run. your horse she always had the very little chance in the feild she run in she is very vey moderate besides the stories you come up with. maybe you must also go to natal to run against the moderate horse there that will make danie happy :D

@flash harry . imo louis is trying to highlight the stipes report that has omitted valuable information that's important to him ( relationship with trainer ) and to us ( punter ) . if you are not a punter , you should declare your platform in this issue . a bit more compassion should help in assisting our fellow poster with a situation that's beneficial to us all .

Thwe horse was not 50/1, she was 7/1, and even so it doesn't matter. Every horse has got someone's money running on it (not to mention an owner, a trainer, etc.) and deserves a fair shake of the dice. There has never been a carryover on the win, place, or swinger pool has there, not even when a 100/1 chance wins.

Now I'm not referring specifically to this incident, but it always frustrates me when people try and implement different rules for "fancied" horses than for unfancied ones. They are all "fancied" by someone - it's the degree that changes, not the principle.

Is FH just pulling the piss or not? Dont see much on that post to make me think differently. Although Louisg and myself disagree on certian things I dont think he would have come here to complain unless he was right. On these forums unless you right someone will nail you. If the horse was kicked it should have been in the Vets/Stipes report so that it will reflect in the racecard before her next run.
