Scotia on March
13 years 3 months ago
Good morning to the Clan and all our forum visitors as we move into March, we have plenty to look forward to.
The Super Rugby, 6 Nations, Football, Cricket (for some) and HORSERACING (Cheltenham,Dubai and Local) not forgetting Ngong, Sweden and Turkey for the hard core punters.
Its only 11 more sleeps to the start of Cheltenham and what a festival it should prove to be, we have many informative threads on the site, here is the latest:
It would appear the going will be good and the track is in excellent condition.
Ruby Walsh has the mounts to make him top jock 5/10 and Geraghty looks the danger 3/1 with AP on offer at 10/1, the trainers honours should be hard fought between Mullins 5/4, 2/1 Henderson and Nicholls 5/2.
As far as the runners, my early selections pending updates from Molly at track side.
The exciting Sprinter Sacre
Sprinter Sacre 13/10, Hurricane Fly 9/10 and Quevega 13/20 can give us a treble on day one.
The bumper has Moscow Mannon 8/1 topping the boards and I have not confirmed between New Years Eve and Pique Sous which one to have a wager on?
Sizing Europe 13/10 and Grand Crus 22/10 (if not taking on the big guns in the Cup) can keep the punters vs bookies in front.
13/20 is the best on Big Bucks and Long Run 22/10 for the Cup.
Have also taken a few doubles from the festival into Camelot 5/2 for the Derby.
We will be announcing our Cheltenham competition in the next week so stay tuned.............
As far as the Dubai World Cup have taken 7/1 with Hollywood on Animal Kingdom.
After the very close opening games with Super Rugby the bookies have shortened the Crusaders 5/2 from 7/2 and they do look the real deal with Reds 5/1, Blues 6/1 and the top SA team the Stormers at 9/1.
6/10 Wales and 19/10 the French for the 6 Nations.
Fergie and Mancini do battle for the title
Not much change in the football with the Manchester giants 6/10 City and 17/10 Utd. You would have to say that if Fergie was with City they would be 1/4.
Probably we will get better games at the bottom where Wigan 4/10 look doomed and anyone's guess between Wolves, Blackburn, Bolton and QPR who will be joining them?
Have a miserable week building up to Cheltenham with the specialist looking at my hernia, they recon my hands are a bit shaky due to the JWB to perform the op myself and a few days later to consider reducing the pain in the feet with my pickled bunions, also difficult op due to bending with my stomach also due to a poor diet.
On a happier note the Lincon from Doncaster is also run on the Dubai World Cup day and Edinburgh Knight 20/1 could be the right one and the National on 14th April has a firm fav Price De Beauchene 9/1.
Plus dont forget the big race day at the big T on DWC night, normally a good crack.

Garricks Super 15 updates
TAB disgusts
Cheltenham Festival Microsite.
Have been getting bombarded with "funny" emails recently and normally delete but found a few of the following worth a mention, reading when waiting for doctors.
I could find no word that rhymes with month, orange, silver or orange?
Dreamt is the only word in English that ends with the letters "mt"
Was trying to use every letter on key board "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog"
There are only 4 words that end with "dous" tremendous, horrendous, stupendous and harardous.
Typewriter is the longest word that can be made using the letters only on one row of the keyboard.
A few sex quotes:
"I believe that sex is one of the most beautiful, natural, wholesome things that money can buy". Tom Clancy
"You know "that look" women get when they want sex? Me neither" Steve Martin
"Having sex is like playing bridge. If you dont have a good partner, you'd better have a good hand" Woody Allen
"Instead of getting married again, I'm going to find a woman I dont like and just give her a house" Rod Stewart
"See the problem is that God gives men a brain and a penis and only enough blood to run one at a time" Robin Williams
Doctor ready have to go, have a great month.
Good punting and may your God be with you.
