May sound like a stupid question (s) but what do you look for at the Shongweni sale, horse with form, breeding, horses that are up for sale from yards that have not over run the horse week in week out?? etc etc...

Is it easier choosing a horse in training than a horse that has not run??

A couple of things include horses who have shown ability but gone off the boil, horses whose MR is dropping to where I think it belongs, horses that may be racing over wrong distances, and for Joburg horses with 'sand' pedigrees. Lightly raced well bred maidens from big yards also get my sensors twitching.

Yep. I love candy. When it's got four legs and someone else has paid the bills for years just getting it ready for us horse thieves to take over.
