I hear some talk of a match race between Igugu and Jackson. Goodness, there is no match here - Igugu will eat Jackson even with WFA allowance!

I can't see either of the connections seeing any value in that............both have more to lose than gain...........one of them ends up with a setback in their reputation...................unless a sponsor put up at least a R1m,winner takes all maybe!

I agree with homer 100% Jackson is a classy sort,no doubt and Jackson will be a top class race horse, probably best of generation(current 3yo crop) but let's face facts and let's give Igugu the accolades she deserves, I don't care what anyone says, she is the best horse in SA and not Jackson,nor any other horse in SA can say other wise.. She will eat him alive.

I don't believe Igugu is that much better than Jackson. Not saying she won't beat him but I have a sneaky feeling in my left bag that this Jackson may just turn out to be even better than Dynasty?

(Just ask Magi, not easy to win 4 in a row ;) )

There will be no match race, Crawford has already said that he will rest Jackson and bring him to KZN for the Derby July double.

Jackson looks like a star in the making. If you take Variety Club and Gimmethegreenlight's performances last Saturday at absolute face value, he would have just about won the Met, That's a big "if", and of course Igugu was several pounds below her best on the day, but on the other hand Jackson is a year younger.

All things being equal, it would be hard to go against Igugu at her best if a match were to take place right now, but in truth we have no idea how good Jackson is. They are likely to meet in the July, given that there is currently no prospect of Igugu leaving SA (although that could change one day) and with a few months of maturity on his back Jackson could be a champion by then. Of course Igugu has the proven form, seeing as she's had 12 extra months in which to show it, but a meeting between these two will be something to savour.

Sheza -
I am NOT with you on this one. My feeling is that Jackson has still not been extended.
Obviously people will have different opinions and I respect that.

@East,

No problem mate.. That's what makes ABC such a great site, different people with different views all with the love of the sport, coming together and viewing our opinions and trying to explain the decisions we make..(Although some of the bets I take I can't explain.lol) I just get goosebumps thinking about the KZN season this year and the prospects of races including Jackson,igugu, GGTGL,variety club,silver flyer,ebony flyer,etc..

Great for the public and for the game

If Wyatt West gets some luck in running he would wipe out all of the runners listed above.

The only thing I know about horse racing is that whatever you think will happen probably won't.
