too true...it's horse racing....not that man or woman that feeds and teaches horse how to run....all horses can run..... some just faster than others.....better horses can land up anywhere and run better despite the man or woman knowing or not knowing what they are doing..... I have seen some of the worst judges of horse flesh have winners with no idea on how or why they won....and then the truely rare cases where the worst horseflesh have won..... and then I have no idea how it won....:D

exactly.. everything is about the horse.. how much power and speed it has.. then people thinks its the jockey's fault if a horse don't come in..okay, sometimes it depends on how the jock handles and rides the horse, but at the end it all depends on the horse. a trainer can have a good horse, but if that horse don't feel like running, it doesn't run like it's supposed to..then it comes almost stone last.. and like you say, then you get a donkey that flies to the finish line..

a friend of mine heard i was punting horses, so he blindly went online and chose 6 horses because of their names, not knowing their stats/trainers/stable/track/etc and won, so i think although it's a lot to do with study for sure, sometimes blind luck and gut feel do just as well as the educated guess.

Fortune should move to the UK (i did suggest this to him a few years ago) I reckon within 1 year We would have duels of epic proportions between him and Mccoy......dont think fortuine has the drive or balls though to go over fences.
