OK, guys, don't say, "Duhhh!" but I have some great big gaps in my racing knowlege and maybe you can educate me: What's a "Divided handicap"? I keep on seeing the term but googling it doesn't help at all.

Basically it is just 1 nomination and the handicappers divide it into 2 races depending on the number of nominations. Caters for merit ratings from about 60-90. They do overlap slightly where the top horses of the lower section are also entered into the bottom of the top section. Hope that helps.
