Agreed, Craig. This is a one horse race. There's even a letter in the Sporting Post about that display.

Is it just me or has anybody else noticed that F Coetzee has not been riding that many winners and places...

Ryan Curling on Rapid Flow. Has to be the worst ride

UD Sugar ray is a stayer through and through with only "one speed" so unless he outstayed the field he would be caught in the finish. Thats why Ian had to go to the front, stretch them out and hope Anton's horse don't stay as well. I don't think there was much else he could do.

Ships G, I also had a go in doubles on Magico but I'm sure there is something wrong with him cause it was a replay of his previous start where Anton was the pilot and he never travelled in the race.

Ian Sturgeon's intention to lead was all good . The problem imo is he set an easy gallop . He should have followed through and set a stronger gallop . Gone a bit quicker then the flower might well have withered .

Or the horse is really mediocre and could not set a faster gallop . Only the jock knows the answer to that one . The race was run in an average time . If the jock wants to make pace he must be able to judge it well .

Okay, so perhaps Ian's wasn't the worst ride of the month, maybe just good judgement and ride from Anton.
