Yes mate huge place for a forum in any sport...this one for horse racing and others are often good for the sport and those who participate..but you gotta have the guts to say what you believe.

I would like to think that this forum and posters opinions translate into real change. It may be purely coincidental but one that sticks out for me was a comment made on the placing of Cape racing on a Tuesday and the fact that the placing of Cape racing on a Tuesday may have a direct impact on turnover in that region
See Cape racing is now on a Wednesday - could be coincidental. as a matter of interest I would like to know whether or not turnover has improved in that region with the move to a different day of the week?
This is a great forum and a great place to voice an opinion. It's also a place learn to accept that others opinion is equally important as your own and therefore all opinions should be respected. We don't have to agree but we have to respect the difference of opinion. Its healthy tension. Two forces pulling in opposite directions in order to find a middle which is normally where things work best.
We can sometimes attack the driver of an issue rather than the issue too. Yes individuals cock up, but we should always question the environment and structure that allows them to cock up.
There is a place in the horse racing sun for all of us and I don't think we are totally ignored, we are just not acknowledged. So continue to post an opinion and those who read and are scared to post, you are entitled to an opinion and who knows you may inadvertently steer racing in the correct direction.
All of the best to ABC, a great forum and the sum of it parts that make it great, the contributors to the forum..

You should read some other racing forums, or those for other sports, like cricket ("the gentleman's game"). You'd have to be a sadist or a masochist to post on them, preferably both.
If you said "It's Wednesday and it's raining in Durban" you would get swiftly shredded by half a dozen eggsperts, sworn at and told you were blind, cretinous and couldn't read a calender, and also that you must be part of a conspiracy paid for by the Cape Town Municipality and trying to run down Durban.
I posted on one (cricket) and got The Treatment, and decided I wasn't getting paid to put up with this s##t. I'm not surprised some people hesitate to post, at least till they are sure they won't get ripped to bloody shreds by the regulars.

@Mav:
To hell with all those that have a chip on the shoulder, racists (myself included!), opinionated, etc....side-shows to the main, beautiful, remarkable protagonist....it's zee HORSE!
I grew up loving horses.... and will always do!

I'll stick to 'amandla' and skip JWB (pass on to Malema!)
