I am getting there. It is not easy to start on your own and so far its going well, I have some lovely owners and clients and the future looks good. The trainers I deal with have been very good to me and have assisted in every way possible.
I saw one of my purchases on Tuesday and he looks like an early forward type. So i am holding thumbs that they do well for their respective owners!
I am also pro-zimbabwe. The benefits of sending horses there are terrific. Training fees are between 400-600 us dollars a month, the stakes are in us dollars and also you have a great variety of local and SA jocks that go up.
After all they have been through, they are definitely on the up and it is the perfect place to send a horse that is in its place, or maybe just below the best in SA. Feature races can be worth as much as US$50 000, so it is worth taking a chance, and the racing fraternity up there are so kind and welcoming, once you have attended a racemeeting at Borrowdale Park, you will be hooked (just like I am) It is simply an awesome place to have horses (that also are cared for extremely well and get evrything they need) and on racedays, owners, trainers, breeders, friends and general horse racing enthusiasts all race together and have a great time.
