I like Perana too get over his "malgheid" and be right there. Only DWTD can match The Apaches turn of foot.

Watching winning ways on tele and they show the rerun of the 2010 summer cup.
How upset was the commentator when Flirtation beat mother russia?
Lol...but MDK is a top trainer just shows that his least fancy horse can come home well

Regal Ransom would be worth considering as a "lunatic" inclusion in everything if the going is really soft or heavy. However, I struggled to find a lurker that I really liked, finding more reasons not to like each one than to like it. Rudra is drawn in the bush, Bulsara's latest form in Jozi does not inspire me, I'd have liked to have seen a bit more zest from Flirtation recently even if she has been running over inadequate distances, etc.

However, I can see a surprise coming even if I can';t work out where it will come from. Bulsara still intrigues me a bit, but he needs to get back to the form he showed in the July. At the risk of getting face-egged, I really can't have Seal.

It would appear number 2 is going to do well ?

I am trying to get a straight line PA and only have a problem with two legs

2x2x2 for first three legs, then 1/4/11? then 2/3/5/10 ? to end 1x3

So any help will be great as don't fancy a perm for a PA will leave that to Molly

Magic , i was thinking the exact same thing about Flirtation . She seems to have lost a bit of spark .

This time last year she was in really hot form going into the cup . Has she been left alone by design in order to dodge the handicapper or has she lost her zest for racing at present ? Only Mdk knows the answer to this !

She is carrying almost a postage stamp and a repeat of last years run would make her very competitive ! i would love to have seen better performances to the lead up . She also likes faster ground and rain will diminish her chances . My verdict with her is to pass her by.....the problem is murphy lurks !

Maybe someone could help answer a question for me. I see Tyrone Zaki's runners all run in steel shoes. Smanjemange is the only runner in the Summer Cup with steel shoes and his runners are pretty much the only runners on the day running in steel shoes. Is there much of a difference between steels and ali's and if so why would one trainer only run his horses in steel's?

To the best of my knowledge, steel shoes are marginally heavier than ally's (and cheaper?) - so in practice should not really make any difference - with some trainers it is more of a indication that the horse is ready - sometimes you will find that horses coming off a long break races in 'steels' - some trainers never race their horses in 'steels' - but obviously the Zackey stable sees not benefit in racing with ally's - and I don't think there is any evidence either way :S

MDK is a master for setting up a horse for a big race.Perana fits the description here for the SUMMER CUP.Gelding has done the trick on PERANA and the fact that he has a low weight, good draw and Delpech has stuck with him, he just looks like the right one.AS for his last run was abrilliant prep run,LOL; he hates night racing,DELPECH gave him o good pipe opener in the first half of the race and then let him stride down the home staight.Thank GOD this time the race would be run during the sunlight.lol
