VDJ Betting Trends - 6 Places Theory

Small snippet after USO - Robert Garner, Vee Moodey and Chainsaw trying to convince us that the 6 places had the effect of increasing t/over on the place bet by 50%. See attached spreadsheet.

What they fail to mention is that the Jackpot grew by 63%. This bet is in no way related to the place bet. Granted the no place rule on Jackpot may have influenced this growth. In general though there is more money going around and I am not convinced that this growth in the place bet can be directly linked to the 6 place rule.

Was the atc bets acttive in 2009/2010?

Good point! It was not. I would like to compare turnovers for the week leading up to the July for the three years. All punting activities at all centres.

Another point worth a mention is that this is being seen from one eye. The eye of turnover. I have to question whether punters or a punters association would want this? I would be happy to see a give and take scenario. You want to take unilatteral decisions on what the punter wants, then give something back eg. reduce take out by 5% to 20% on the 6 place bet.

AL i have no doubt that the place increase and win increases in this years july is the ATC running onto Igugu etc in the July
