St John Gray at the awards

We were at the RA Awards last night and a superb evening had by all and well done to the winners. Our previous staying over in the Turffontein area has normally been a disaster but glad to say we found a little gem as far as accommodation is concerned " www.geckoridge.co.za " only 10 mins from the track, ladies name Sandy, give her a call if you are going to the big T and want to stay over.

As far as the evening, good comedian Felix Hlope, great band Huey and the Boyz, wine from Klawervlei and as normal superb food from Scott and William.

Have posted a few pics on the site, have many more, send me an email and I will forward more...2011 Highveld awards

When trying to squeeze into my penguin suit had to ask the question how a suit shrinks by just sitting in a wardrobe?

Having a look at some future events the Oaks: Blue Bunting 2/1 and 5/1 Wonder of Wonders. The "Investec" Derby where Carlton House 16/10 (Moore for the Queen) to help pay for the wedding?

Workforce is due to have his comeback race at Sandown on Thursday evening in the group 3 Piper Heidsiech Champagne Brigadier Gerard Stakes over one and a quarter mile.

It looks confirmed that Canford Cliffs will clash with Goldikova in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot on the 14th of June, Frankel will also be on show and should have no problem in winning the St James's Palace Stakes on the same day. 15th should see See You Think start a hot fav for the Prince of Wales. 16th is Gold Cup day. 17th is the Coronation Stakes. The Golden Jubilee should end a great weeks racing on the 18th.....................enjoy Mr Hobbs, you lucky man.

On the local front, with the inclusion of Igugu in the July betting is now taking a more sensible appearance and we have published the current July log and some great sprint races in store. July Log

Birmingham Fans gutted

Sport, latest on Football Celtic win the Scottish Cup, Man United win last game and West Ham, Blackpool and Birmingham go down in the most dramatic end to the season. Rugby: Crusader evens, Reds 3/1, Stormers 5/1, Blues 7/1.

American pop idols are down to the last 2 are Scott as short as 1/10 and Lauren 6/1.

Some of the weeks highlights from the Forum

Garrick asks, are we missing a market?

Advise for new punters.

Its just not fair a very sad story from one of our regular contributors

and many more

Had a problem with my feet last week over and above the back/nerve problem on the right foot, have a bunion on the left one, was told to soak it in vinegar, made no difference to the pain but I now have a pickled bunion.

Also been trying to lose weight "again" I am on tablets, but the small print says take one 3 times a day after meals and I only eat one big meal a day at around 20.00 with chips and wine.

They are called "Alli" have lost nothing in a week but every time the barman rings the bell for last rounds, I get the urge to shout seconds away and start boxing, just as well I was in the Afrikaans pub nobody noticed.

So just be careful which pills you take.

Have a great week and may your God be with you

SO YOU THINK

Is now 5/10 for the Prince of Wales, 22/10 for King George and 4/1 for the Arc, can't remember an Aussie horse having this type of impact in Europe apart from the sprinters.

BEWARE!

WORKFORCE will "really need" his comeback run at Sandown on Thursday night, trainer Sir Michael Stoute has warned.

Might not happen...................however

FRANKEL is just 4-6 with Coral to win the Qipco Sussex Stakes at Goodwood in July on what could be his first clash with his elders.

Henry Cecil's stunning Qipco 2,000 Guineas winner, who is set to run first in the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot, heads a superb entry of 35, which includes last year's winner Canford Cliffs and the former Australian-trained sensation So You Think.

Canford Cliffs, Coral's 2-1 clear second favourite, also has a trip to Royal Ascot on the agenda, for the Queen Anne Stakes, but Richard Hughes is looking forward to riding him again at Goodwood.

He said: "All going well, he will hopefully go to the Sussex Stakes again this year."
