Usually 'resigning' from one organization is not the same as 'being axed' from another - although taking into account the two organizations concerned, in this case there may be some common thread between the 2 events?

Frodo, you've got to remember that in sunny S.A. especially with the big parastatal companies, airlines, telecoms, energy companies etc. when the C.E.O. is about to get the BULLIT I believe he / she is normally given the option - we gonna fire you or you resign.

What is the cleaner way out - the person in question normally RESIGNS to save face & possible court proceedings.
