Durbanville and Turffontein Saturday

Good to see one of my Favourites back Buy and Sell after nearly a year of the track(tu) although you would think the Grader could have relented a wee bit?

Going to be a good card to watch but not sure of the punting?

Anyway a very small e/w bet on Tree of Perfection
at 20/1+ in buy and sell`s race will probably be my only bet, unless someone can tempt ME?

post your winners below!!!

At Durbanville I agree with GB, Varushka a good bet in this race. My best here is Abington in the 7th. 2nd run gelded and I think he is well weighted in this contest! Take the 6/1 now!!!!!

At the Big T I like Rebel Knight to place even though he is not well in here, Welwitschia should win and in the 6th I would include Not Liable with Roman Wall. He is 2nd best in at the weights and may have a small chance.

Play well boys!

Tigers Smile in the second seems to have a decent e/w chance today.
Last time out the trainer informed everyone that the horse wasn't ready but should have come on from that run.
Expect a decent run.

Big day in SA if you like cricket; we need to beat India today to top the group and theoretically get the easier quarter final; also some nice racing at the Big T; some thoughts (bear in mind that March has not been treating me as kindly as Feb - which is my birthday month after all):

R1: Tough field imo; I'm hoping that Powerofone's Frnch Fun can win, but really anything could happen here imo
R2: Irish Gift tries the extra ground and IF he stays should prove hard to beat - no value though imo
R3: Tricky opener to the PA; Santa now gets the blinkers again, but may still need this run, Gold on Gold is ideally suited to this trip, but races without blinkers and needs big improvement on his last effort where he was supported in the betting; I'm inclined to go with the horses that are racing fit like Mirage Drive and Speed for Gold in the PA and would include even the rank outsider Royal Rez in trifecta's and quartets
R4: Welwitchia
R5: Bulsara is really well in here (would have given Snowdon 6.5 kg's in a handicap) and I think he will be equally effective over the 1450; only concern is his poor last effort (yes he had to carry a big weight in a handicap, but really should have run much better), but I'm going to put a line through that run and I think he is the best value on the card today by far.
R6: Roman Wall should trounce this field at the weights if her repeats his run in the Guineas; stable has some concerns about the inside track though, so it may be wise to include Not Liable who also has some strong earlier form (and comes from a stable who has had a good day at the Vaal on Thursday) and perhaps also the year older Amatol (although the stable is not exactly turning out the winners at present).
R7: Dark Wind beat most of these at almost the same weight terms and should still be improving, so should be the right one; Rudi Rocks has been talked about as lacking a bit in the courage department, but is an obvious inclusion in the PA at least; it's either Dark Wind or the field for me in the P6 though
R8; Oil Tycoon is in form but may just be a little doubtful over the 1600, but is a definite PA inclusion (banker?); Captain's Wild has really been hammered by the handicapper and comes of a long rest; but comes from the all-conquering de Kock stable, so can't be ignored; WInterwonderland tries the 1600, and needs to be included as well, while Freiburg could upset if returning to his best form - not an easy race if Oil Tycoon fluffs his lines
R9: Tough close to racing; Rampant Jet comes from a strong formline and deserves to be favorite imo, but is running around this turn fro the first time and anything could win if he fails

Play well

Turf Race 4, Welwitshcia is the nap but unbackable for me. But what about Catechuchu for a place at 10's? Easy last win, nice draw on a tight course, Ferraris the guvnor, and lightly raced running fresh.

Turf Race 5, Ecohawk's last run was a good 3rd less than a length to, at the time, the highly thought of Pierre Jourdan in a feature race. Draw a line through his penultimate run as he was hanging and shifting all over the place. His 3rd last run he beat he beat a dual subsequent winner Torah, and three others who won their following races including Winter's Night who went on to win 4 in a row. He's handicapped to win on MR's, is a course winner and might be the only pacemaker with his postage stamp weight on a tight track. Although he hasnt run in over a year is probably why one can get 12's for a win.
