Remembering Al Mufti

Read in the Sportingpost that Al Mufti passed away this AM at Ascot Stud. He was 26 ripe years old!

Condolences to all at stud and who was involved with him.

Of course he was the sire of such great current sires as Captain Al, The Sheik and Cataloochee. I however believe his biggest contribution will be from the dam sires side. He is VERY strong on the dam side and he was a true legend in the paddocks!!!

Sad news.

Can't believe he was 26. That July finish is still fresh in my mind.

A very good sire, and an outstanding sire of broodmares. Bold Silvano winning the Dubai World Cup would be a fitting tribute.

Tremendous impression on the breed in South Africa. My favorite sire line. At one point, when I owned all or part of 125 broodmares, two-thirds of them were from the Turn-to sire line. I loves me some Turn-to! Must be the sailor in my bloodlines. My dad was in the U. S. Navy in WW2.
