a wise man once said: "Winners repeat frequently while the defeated are apt to be defeated almost continuously."

I'm inviting you clansmen to list the trainers or jockeys that you believe should be followed or avoided at the moment.

out of curiosity i went into formgrids to check the strike rate of some trainers and jockeys in the last hundred runs.

Paul Lafferty 5%
Paul Matchett 10%
Mike De Kock 15%
Charles Laird 23%

Smanga Khumalo 8%
Muzi Yeni 10%
Pierre Strydom 15%
Antony Delpech 23%

I will now avoid Lafferty at all costs , whether his horses start winning week in and out I will never punt a horse from his yard again .

Karl Neisius is the best jockey to judge the pace of a race, he generally gets an extra 2 to 3 lengths out of a horse.
Alan Greeff record in P.E. is good and he is ever willing to offer his honest opinion about his horses.

There is no jockey that can get a extra 3 lengths out of a horse,Karl Neisius who has been riding succesfully now for over 30 yrs now is a good judge of pace and wins many more races because of this but its more tactical riding,he is riding with such a lot of confidence now that he makes very few mistakes in the decisions he makes in race and this seperates him and others who are on form.Alot of jocks go into a race with an enormous amount of pressure on them mostly self emposed, have not payed the rent, car is behind in payment, have put the grocery money on the horse and so on so they are the ones that make bad decisions in a race and get beatenPressure is a bad thing to have when you are a jockey it screws with your judgement, most top jocks dont have this problem. Now there are some jocks that suit a particular horse and they run better for them but thats another topic for discussion alltogether

Marcus and Strydom would be my jockey choice if I have a strong fancy and wanted to put my money down.
MDK as a trainer.

What a choice Scotia, Strydom one of the best balanced rider in the world.Mind as sharp as a razor and an excelent judge of pace,Marcus one of the strongest riders around, places horses well in a race and they appear to get there for nothing, and the most important quality very honest and a very hard worker on the track What can i say abouy MDK that has not being said before

Tarry's stable is totally off form at the moment. I believe the 'bug' is around the yard.
He will bounce back, but its been costly to his supporters

When it comes to the Group 1 & 2 races, de Kock, Bass, Snaith and Tarry (who I am sure will bounce back) continue to share the spoils between them...90% hot.

Next best would be Ramsden, followed by C Laird, who doesn't seem to place his horses well imo...but he is competitive at times...75% hot

These two are followed by all of Woodruff, A Laird, Kotzen, Magner, Gray, Howells, Marshall, Drier and Kannemeyer who are good to follow, but only in "ordinary" races imo...50% hot

Then we find Crawford, Kruyer, Alexander etc who are more cold than hot imo...25% hot

The trainer in the worst streak ever I think is Dom Zaki...I think he should give up imo...5% hot!
