Looking forward to seeing Fort William in the first.

He's by Fort Wood out of the Seeking The Gold mare, Quaestio.
She's sister to the sire, Mutakkdim and has already produced Tomachek (by Oasis Dream) and Kavanagh (by Tiger Ridge).

Being by Fort Wood, it doesn't seem likely he'd be winning a 1000 metre dash in January but he's certainly well related.

In the same race, there's Winter's Song, by Western Winter out of the Elliodor mare, Aria. How did they manage to snag him for R60k?
The stablemate has Felix up and looks a likely winner.

Marcus Jooste also has another Aus import making its debut for the Laird/Marcus combination.

All told, it's an interesting looking baby race.

That is amazing AG.I'm told Durban hot as hell and not a cloud at Greyville...obviously too much to dry out?
Another case for some kind of covers for racetracks....many abandonments would be avoided in this type of example.

We had lots of rain on the East Rand last night, not sure how much they had @ Big T?

Anton has a 57% win and 80% place strike rate on MDK horses, Gluwein in the 8th?

Also fancy Nova Zembla in the 4th and Mr Renaldo in the 5th....

Yes Rob agree, It is clear skies today, but the amount of rain that fell yesterday makes the track unsafe for the jockies to race. Also, more rain is predicted for this afternoon.

Following a further 45mm of rain at Greyville Racecourse on Friday night, bringing the total for the week to 85mm, the race meeting originally scheduled for the city track, and which features the Flamboyant Stakes, will now be run at Scottsville (Inside track) on Sunday 2 January. The new race times will follow in due course.
