When did you last recall such huge dividends on pa,p6 ok and jackpot. The jackpot is now a very viable bet, since the couplings dont count.THE PA PAID A WHOPPING 29000,THE POT 150 000,AND THE P6 92000,Congrats to anyone lucky enough to scoop any of these fortunes.

TAB declared an incorrect payout of R3 462 on the Pick 6 for the Greyville meeting on Wednesday night 29 December. The payout was corrected to R39 738 some 20 minutes later.
The incorrect winning numbers and official payout declared at 9.29pm on Wednesday resulted from a coupling on Race 8, the last Pick 6 leg, being entered into the betting system as Nos 4, 5 and 15 instead of Nos 4, 5 and 14.
The initial official payout was declared “unofficial” at 9.37pm after the coupling error was discovered and the correct winning combination and payout of R39 738 were declared at 9.50pm.
The tote betting system payout report on Race 8 shows that 25 winning tickets were paid out less than should have been the case. These customers can claim the rest of their winnings, amounting to R34 411 in total, by calling TAB Customer Care on 681 1408/10/11/13 or 0861 444 822.
Customers with the receipt slip of their payout can collect the rest of their winnings from the relevant TAB as soon as they have contacted Customer Care. Alternatively a claim form must be completed, which TAB will process soonest.
The coupling error resulted in TAB paying out R36 798 to 67 Pick 6 tickets that were in fact losing tickets.
An initial investigation has already been carried out and has revealed that three different TAB employees failed to detect the coupling error. A full investigation is now under way and disciplinary action will be taken where necessary. TAB apologises for the error and the inconvenience caused to customers with genuine winning tickets.

As mentioned on the 'other' site; while TAB is promising an investigation and possible disciplinary action, surely this needs to be investigated/audited by the NHA - the phrase 'bringing horseracing into disrepute' come to mind

I remember Shaheen looking more than slightly dazed when he read out the original payout. If anybody was still tuned to Tellytrack they would have been given a heads-up that something was very wrong.

As a software developer, I don't understand why couplings have to be 'entered' into the system. There are ways to read these in from the 'database' with validations. I would like to know if these entries were done before or after the race. As I have mentioned before, I had noticed a change in a PA 'number of tickets left' which did not quite add up after I had been taking note of the numbers while still running. sounds like this system is open to manipulation.

Greg, I did post on this topic a while back but I am going to make an effort to have actual screenshots in future. Obviously better to have hard evidence than just taking one's word for it. It was just at the time after 4 legs in a KZN PA that after calculating that there should be 6000 tickets left, the total after the race came to 8000 tickets with the fave not in the first four. Come to think of it perhaps someone 'entered' the wrong horse as favourite...lol

I have a situation, different, but similar in principle, where a Soccer 6 dividend changed between provisional and final, whilst awaiting overseas "stamp" on results.
I queried it and got a reply stating that it was a MANUAL error and they would be taking internal action.
Have heard nothing further(didn't expect any) but why can payouts be so badly affected MANUALLY.
Racing has far more exotics, and much more complicated.....God knows how those may be manipulated?

Worrysome indeed - where is our friend Mr RA (is he on leave as we haven't heard from him in a while?) - if punters can't trust the tote payouts, they will go elsewhere, affecting the stakes pot, which should make the RA investigate?

No one would allow bookmakers to run racing,so why allow a tote company virtual Carte Blanche
