More winners for Karl Neisius

4 more winning rides. The guy is a legend in my village as all the old toppies back him. I wonder how many winners he has had in his career. At 53 and still riding like he does, he surely is a super sportsman.

Not one other poster has joined me in saying well done to him/ I did not know that provincilism is still alive and well or maybe its the fact that the majority of posters are from North of the Vaal River. Thus the explanation for the lack of heaping praise on a sportsman from the Cape.

i posted not to long ago on this forum that this man is a legend and when he retires will be surely inducted into the kenilworth hall of fame alongside the other racing greats..

I've said it more than once before, but if it makes you happy I'll say it again: for someone who can't ride, he sure gets a lot of winners,

Karl is a legend and hardly ever batters a horse to get home, a horseman after all. Still first jockey to get to work and never makes excuses. Never heard complaints about him except for the unusually gifted here.

It's amazing though, that riders half his age can't give him a go. Do they need a handicap?

What it tells you is a brain is worth more than the body. But we knew that.

I am sure it was the late Mr Beck that said he was different class and always wanted him to ride his horses

I think just lucky or other jocks giving him a chance due to his age.

There is no doubt that Karl is a good jockey and that by and large he is on top of his game and knows exactly what is potting :

He gets a lot of good rides though ....... and this is because as mentioned above he gives a balanced and by and large educational ride as
well as being an experienced pro

If I have some carps it is that

a) he tends to ride the same race all most of the time .. as a result of this he has more winners in summer than winter as horses can
quicken up much easier from slightly off the pace

b) having said that there is the odd execption ..National Play for example ...... which was a top ride from the front

c) he has been known to get out of his ground on a few well backed favourites and arrived on the scene too late

d) In a tight finish I think I would prefer Anton Marcus or Bernard if push came to shove

But ... Im not knocking the guy .. he has been around a long time, paid his dues and is an extremely capable horseman

He is a good jockey - but obviously his star will shine a bit brighter in the Cape now with Felix out for 6 weeks.
