Scotia on Arc weekend
14 years 8 months ago
Good morning all and hope you are all geared up for another sporting weekend and in my mind nothing comes bigger and better than the QATAR PRIX DE L'ARC DE TRIOMPHE at LONGCHAMP over 2,400 mt on Sunday 3rd of Oct (lets just call it the ARC, for the lads on the Forum). Forum
Last years winner Sea The Stars
We have Youmzain in the field after three consecutive seconds and what a way to end a career by winning this race.
If we also consider no Sea The Stars, Zarakova or Dylan Thomas so it might just be the right one? In my opinion this is a rather weak field for the most difficult race on the planet and I will be sticking with Fame and Glory as a solid ew selection.
For those Clansmen not attending the gay pride parade in Joburg on Sat. I can recommend the taste of Joburg at the Montecasino complex, if as good as last year its not to be missed.
"if its not your cup of tea maybe a glass of wine at Montecasino is the better option"?
The site has been as busy as ever the last couple of weeks and some very interesting topics.
new tote bet.............
well done to our competition winner "Bloodshot" (Bruce) and thanks again to the bookies. Comp winner
Phumelela and RA still hush hush on Forum questions.............
Punters still unhappy with erratic tote payouts.......... Angry Tote punters
We pulled the Bulana thread earlier in the week at the request of the original author but the topic has touched a cord and re surfaced Bulana Thread
and many more!
It is with regret that I have to inform you that Clan Classique will not run again but we will always remember the day she won for us at the Vaal. we are just looking for a good home.
Rachel Alexandra has also said farewell with a slightly better record of 19 starts, 13 wins and 5 seconds.
On the ante post market the ARC is hardly ante post but here is the betting: Behkabad 4/1 tops the boards, 6/1 both Fame and Glory and Planteur and 10/1 bar. Swiss Diva still easy to back at 7/2 for the Prix De LAbbye.
In Australia the 23rd of Oct we have the Cox Plate where the "star" So You Think is firm at 15/10 and many expect a big race as the same horse is now joint fav with Shocking for the CUP at 10/1 on the 2nd of Nov
On the subject of a new superstar it would appear that Frankel could be the real deal and has been installed as short as 2/1 for next years 2000 gns and 9/2 for the Derby which will allow me to have a decent ew on Saamidd at a big price, but must admit Frankel looks a star.
For all the jump fans don't forget Kauto Star on Boxing day at Kempton 2/1 to pay for the xmas presents.
The Breeders Cup on the 6th Nov still has Zenyatta at 4/1 fav.
On the local front the Summer Cup at the end of November where we will be having another competition, so watch this space.
I was talking about not having any shocks in the soccer, famous last words, some real turn-ups for the books and on the subject of turn-ups our local green grocer passed away and he had a huge turn-up at the funeral.
Maybe this week can provide more shocks so easy on the ATC's with the "hotties".
Golf is the Ryder Cup and always great to watch, will go for Europe to win in Wales.
Rugby its the Curry Cup where Sharks, Cheetas and Griquas should easily win and the big clash will be Bulls and WP (take the draw for interest)
Not sure if you have ever been really embarrassed in your life but you would have to go pretty far to beat this lass. Watch Clip
Have a great sporting/social weekend and may your God be with you
Good punting!

Talkin about the Ryder Cup sure you will be able to get 2/1 Uncle Sam`s Army on Interbet which might be worth another look? Irish bookie Paddy Power are doing an amazing offer in the 2 ball betting if your player is beat by the 16th they are refunding your money..
Tiger woods 8/1 to be top scorer, seemingly he has been sinking plaenty of birdies

Good humour Scotia enjoyed the wrong winner, plus the gay boys outfits,I believe that the decision to give CC a good home is correct,as knee chips operations are costly, plus her gps never had Hollywood in her sights.
