VAAL SAND THURSDAY 9th September
14 years 9 months ago
Hi All...
Posting now as i'm not here to post Thursday / Friday...
Detzky's Diamond making debut in race 1...is nice well put together Kitalpha colt out of Northfields mare [Dean Kannemeyer has full brother]...shows speed but will be green...hope he runs on at business end and get run under belt...has ability to be quartet contender...will ultimately need 1400m and might prefer grass but shows on sand at home...
Kruger Gold in race 7 has low weight and makes come back run after minor injury [neigbours dogs ran on working track and dumped jock and ran into tree injuring leg]. Has ability if run from behind but should need run BUT include in quartets. Just want to see him coming back into himself.
Hope all turns for us a bit as we might lose Detzky's Darling...like Ivan Snyman's Nyakatho she freshed near stables for no reason, dumped the groom and slipped on cement breaking her spatula...we are fighting to keep her alive and if it doesn't turn for the better she will be put down...trying to save her...
DJ Detzky makes his comeback on Friday in the Founders Trophy...he is VERY WELL, weighted to run well, 2 from 2 gelded, distance suited. Expect cheek from Celtic Fire and Malabar but i feel we have a realistic chance as this is a prep for Algoa Cup in October and the Cape season.
Hope all goes well and info helps...happy punting and good luck to other clan members with runners...

Rad,
Always sad to learn of any injury to any horse; let's hope DD recovers from this.

Race 3: Amarillo, UNLESS the Azzman first timer is any good...
In the 4th I can't help feeling that Jamaican Express is better than that last run to Watchful.
Race 5: Arabian Glamour (first leg of a Spies double)
Race 6: Chinook had excuses last run, she has beaten Arabian Glamour.... Value for me today
Race 7: ???????
Race 8: Just a Spark comes from the Arabian Glamour formline, lets see how AG goes in the 5th. Won't leave out Roman World, stable known for winning at big odds.
Race 9:Combera Boy for the Spies double. The 9-1 is huge odds for this runner imo... Also respect the mdk perd who goes on sand for the first time.
In summary looking at an eachway patent: Arabian Glamour/Chinook/Combara Boy
