Mr irwin I must apologise for easy comments, I think its a priviledge to have a person of your calibre on our forum, I don't think easy knows your rich racing history and the influential people you introduced to sa racing like hollywood producer gary barber,we are proud of the success of sa bred horse taken under your wing.please keep supporting sa racing and buy your next champion from our abc champion breeder jack dash, its great that people have difference in opinions but sometimes we need to show a little respect!

Hi Hibernia, I agree that forums are to express different opinions......but at the same time, I believe that people posting comments using their names or under pseudonyms should at least adhere to "forum etiquette". Easy's comments regarding Barry Irwin and Team Valour are way out of line and should be censored.

Easy now I see why you only posted 758 msgs after 3 years cos you only post kuk n your 759 msg aint gona be any different, to call a person that comes to sa and give owners the chance of making a huge profit from their horses a parasite is not a different opinion but a srupid comment,so what you gona call the australian that bought noble heir a PARASITE, I spoke to 1 of owners the other day and he over the moon they got 800k for her,he said no sa breeders could pay the price

This seems to be more about Yankee-bashing than Barry's business practices per se. It all seems a bit childish.

As a new member to this forum, I enjoy reading the various topics posted on this forum and I have made some really good friends and met some really good people. I have also learnt a lot from members postings which is somethimes first hand information. but when a forum turns to personal attack, then it is not good for the industry and for the reason this forum exists. To me a forum is not about a slugging match between people and to show the world out there that we do not respect each others views and opinion. People are entitled to air their views and opinion and this is what it it is, only their views and opinions and this should be respected.
The forum administrator or moderator should step in if people get out of line and do not abide with forum rules regarding postings, and a warning should be issued to the perputrator. If the person still does not abide, then he or she sould be kicked off the forum.
Constructive critism is most welcome, only if it promotes horse racing and the existance of this forum.
From my short stay on this forum I am of the opinion that majority of the people on this forum are people of integrity, and thats what we need to grow and promote this forum. It will be sad to see people wanting to leave the forum because of slugging.
ABC is not the place for this....... TAKE IT ELSE WHERE...... I do not want to leave this forum beacuse of that.
Lets talk Horse Racing.....................
Cheers

.....I'm no yank basher nor do I have a beef with Barry.....I agree with most of the positive posts about Team Valour and they (Barry) certainly put us on the map when Ipi Tombi (and others) was financed and sent to Dubai.....I don 't know what Barry's relationship is with Charl and maybe comments about "media whore" are their way of taking a dig at each other.....my comment was done in jest....but to call a person a parasite when clearly they have been most beneficial is pretty strong....Barry you will continue to fish in our little pond......there are many a big one that may still be tempted by your lure...

BI faced a barrage of SA nationilism on CP's site regarding comments on racing journalism. It turned from that to lets protect the father land and protect our "begging bowls". Ridiculous. Saffers must let go of their inferiority complex rather than accuse people of arrogance. Lets be honest, Americans come across as naturally arrogant and they probably dont even know they are doing it.
It's funny a few years ago I got on my high horse (excuse the pun) over BI's comments before the 2008 July. I was on about Buy and Sell winning and he said something along the lines of "pissing in the wind". Cuckoo came to my rescue on that occassion. It turns out I was very much pissing in the wind as BI's choice Dancers Daughter dead heated with Pocket Power. Problem with pissing in the wind; it always tends to blow back and get the legs wet. (lol)
BI is an important voice in SA racing and I believe that through his global racing interests, SA racing should be drawing on his experiences and exposure to world racing. He may just have a lot more to offer SA in terms of a vision for the survival of racing in SA.
Lesson 1 of any business, leave emotion out of decision making. I am sure that BI would not withdraw interest in SA due to comments on any of these sites. We are all just pissing in the wind anyway. (lol)
