How can this be explained:
a Jockey weighs in 1kg more after the race, than at the start of the race?

There are a number of possibilities :

1.) Willie Uys was in the race and 'loaned' him some weight from his saddlebag.
2.) He supported his own weight at the weigh out whilst the clerk of scales was distracted.
3.) He forgot to do the same at the weigh in.
4.) He ate a pie on the way to the start.
5.) The scale was faulty.
6.) De drank too much water at the start.

Taken from the NHRA 6/8/2010 publication.

Greyville Racecourse - 10th Race - 31/07/2010

J Geroudis - (jockey) Rule 66.4. As rider of Flirtation, he returned to the scale in excess of 1kg over the weight he declared out at. Fined R1000.00.
