Is betting sports better than betting horses?

I've never really tried my luck at sports betting, any advice?

Buzz factor Definately horses

Profitability, probably easier to win betting sports, as stats and form is much easier to understand

Some don't like the shorter prices , but we cant always be glory hunters

then on Saturday evening got sms from interbet to try their in play betting so I went and took few bets on the rugby and after that on the soccer made myself a packet will def play in the future I am hooked

James Inplay betting on sports are great but do about reading on the internet

Always take a profit if you can,

winning 2-1 with 5 mins to go in a soccer match can cause heart failure

Sports betting can only be easier than horse betting because the margins are lower (abt 3% vs 10%) and there is no 6% betting tax. T'fore horse players on average probably lose 13% more than sports bettors in the long run.

Agree Mac, plus sport you have more form and less uncertainties to work with. In a rugby match you can easily get 19/20 both teams on a handicap. You don't have to worry about first times or horses coming off rests.

I enjoy both forms but find sports betting more profitable in the long term. Same as with horseracing you need to do your homework.

betting soccer is frustrating,outright..quite like the sub markets like a team that u know is gonna park its bus in defence...i'll go high in corners,etc..sometimes these defencive teams hold on to the draw

i guess you need the nerves for it. imagine backing a team to win, your team scores on the third minute and the game stays like that until the other team draws on the 90th min.....heart stopping stuff. in sport you have to string multiple events to get odds you could easily obtain on a single horse. and then there are many upsets too just like in racing....

With sports betting, think the main thing is to take multiple bets and let them ride, with sports bets its in it for the long haul, chipping away at the profits.
think I am going to try focus on sports betting - with the EPL the likely candidate to take most of my coin.
The chances of winning on the sports bets are a bit better than the donkeys, well in the SA market atleast

I myself have not tried sports betting all that often, but I did do pretty well on the World Cup, and lost it all to the ponies :silly:

I used to bet 100% horse racing but now it is about 5% and sports betting 95%. It is easier to win in sports betting than horse racing. You need to take a long term view.
