So United should be thankful for surviving...could also have been a casualty...

Chelsea's quadruple hopes didn't last 4-2 long.

It has been suggested that sides competing in Champions league would rather bow out of the FA cup !!!! ????

Is that just conspiracy theory??

N0S 1,2 and 3 in PL plus Spurs and all playing at home go out of FA Cup!
I have said for a number of years that the top sides which predominately contain foreign players feel nothing for the English FA Cup.
The PL is the main issue, which leads to Champ League.
Another point is match takings halved.
Wins and replays mean extra fixtures that jeaopardise the main target.
FA Cup like League Cup now devalued.
Remember a few years ago Ferguson putting out reserve side and being criticised for it.

Ferguson was the 1st manager to play a weaker team. He was also lambasted for having to pick the world club cup over fa cup when the fa refused to make allowances for going.

Since then, its been common practice by managers, local and foreign, to field weaker teams.

But I agree Farawaysaint, the "magic of the cup" has been lost for years now.
Plus, there is no automatic qualification to anything for winning the fa cup but to play on the community shield, yet, Carling cup has a Europa spot? Makes no sense.

I don't think that they will be moaning about the "magic having gone" in Bradford and Middlesbrough.

3/1 UTD
3/1 ARSE
5/1 pooh

Remember they blamed utd for choosing to pull out the cup that year when infact they were asked to represent the League
