IPL owners bought all the franchises for the T20 tournament in South Africa. South Africa will give up their points to Australia in the World League ODI to host the tournament.

I saw that, 30 points given up. Hope that it’s worth it because qualifiers can be 50/50

I think we have as good a chance as any team - T20 can go any way; depending on the pitch, I'd go with 2 spinners at least - I think our best team would be:

Obviously Cricket SA has decided that the 50 Over game is not that important any more - imo wrong decision to give up the games against Aus for a bit of wham bam :huh:

I did say 'our best team' - according to me - either Miller or Maharaj can easily stand in as captain.

I can't see that there is any room for Bavuma in that top order - have to agree that he will probably not be dropped though - to me he is good enough for the test team, and perhaps for the ODIs, but not for T20.

The squad for the T20 World Cup will be interesting - one or two I think that would make many other international squads, are going to miss out :dry:

England v SA 1st test starts Wednesday. Can’t see SA troubling England much in this series unless Nortje and Rabada fire. Bairstow in the form of his life which can’t go on forever. SA batting line up looks average at best so will really need someone to bat long.

Strange decision for South Africa to bat first after winning the toss. Also leaving out Jansen. South Africa in trouble already. They need at least 200. We have the bowlers but the left arm fast will have been handy.
