I stand under correction, but i think the horse Howes lost the weight on was called Greenwood, and trained by the late Paul Dennyschen

Howes was also bust taking a cell phone down to the start and calling his punter...

Morgenrood was given a 2nd chance only to be bust a year later on a positive involving cocaine.....

How many 2nd chances do we give these guys???

Utterly amazing!

A large percentage of the punters on this forum are continually going on about how crooked this game is, and how they are going to expose it because the punter is GOD and all of racing will listen...yet now the same punters are up in arms because a crook got taken out of the game and they want the crook back? Which is it boys?

The rule is quite clear, if you bring racing into disrepute and get caught you are gone.

Roger B - who told you he was talking to a punter? load of crap.

it was wrong to have a phone at the start yes, but no calls were made to a punter- this was cleared up already and call logs reviewed.

not wanting to open a can of worms but do you think Howes invented the tunnel weight trick? or perhaps he saw it being done by more prominent jocks? i leave it you to decide for yourself.

enough from me on this subject.

A friend i have known for over 10 years AB. I just want to air my views over what i think is a ridiculous situation. Even rapists and murderers get parole.

all i would like to see is the man treated fairly.

he still owes the jockey club plenty from the original inquiry. they say pay the oustanding and then re-apply but dont take it as granted. how can he pay if he cant earn? its a catch 22 and if he did have the dosh to pay, he would be living on it, not daonating it to the people who have turned their backs on the people in their profession.

Why can't the jockey have his phone on him..with an ear piece..
will the phone make the horses run faster...

at least I can call him during the race, when he is riding like his ass...explain to him...to continue past the winning post...around the turn..to the back stretch of the track...get off between the trees...and duck...

during the 80's..when we had no cellphones...the bookmakers on track...used the security guards radio....the ones hanging around the back of the bookmakers ring....to relay messages via the starter to the jockeys...

so what is the big deal...
get rid of bookmakers..then the scheming stops..

as for the jockey...I said it before...be greatfull you are banned..walk away..start a new life...5 years from now you will thank them for the ban..

as for the others that have pulled schemes..
well life is a circle..
the prospect of knowing that you will end up where you started...
with nothing..
must be driving them crazy...
look at the actions...coce heads..drunkards..guys of questionable charaters..
allways having to look over their shoulders..
fearing my fav punters at the VAAL...
6 or so coloured guys..always at the fence...pissed out of their skulls...
cannot wait to get their knifes..screwdrivers etc into the jockeys that tipped them...
watched them one day with Mark...
frightning...even to me...
Yep..these guys are gonna get you...one day...
then you will wish...you were banned 5 years ago...

then he should do that...they possibly ARE prepared to give him a second chance. If you all think he is deserving, find out how much the outstanding is, pay it for him as a loan, and he can pay you back....tips, punting, ect

...yet now the same punters are up in arms because a crook got taken out of the game and they want the crook back? Which is it boys? ......

1+1=many....

how can you throw out one "crook" and keep all the others..

sure, we need to make an example and try to rid the industry of schemers..
however, racing was, is, and will always be tried by characters of questionable motives..

For most people in racing, racing is a secondary side of life.
Others do hunting, hunting with a few pretty girls for entertainment..
Others do deep sea fishing, with a few pretty girls for entertainment..
Others have affairs..
others do drugs...
other just drink...
some do it all..

Corporate business is the primary side of life..
hence racings is....
Almost the dark side of our lives..
an Escape...
Where you can steal and it's ok..
Where you can be drunk and it's ok..
where you can lie and it's ok...
where you can be lied to..by the trainer..the jockey..USO..and its ok..

Unlike the corporate world...in racing...we expect you to lie to us..cheat us..
when we go home tonight...we have a good laugh..shake our heads..feel sorry for you..and then have a great night's rest...

racing also give a balance..
having to spend all day in the corporate world..
listening to politically correct speaches...
prim and propper..
having to watch ...ass creeping from the morning to night..to get promotion..

need a balance to keep our sanity..
where better to go...
the racing industry..
lie, rob, steal, cheat...

monday..the balance is back..
I can endure the corporate world for another week..
