Why would JJ be shorter...
watch the race again..look from where the winner comes...see how far it wins by..
JJ not in the same race..

Shea riding...Striker on the horse, would have won by lengths.
Shea on his own mission...planning his retirement on punters cash,...amazing how JJ won previous race by 4 lengths.
With Strikers last ride, won like the that champ JJ is, with the right jockey on....Shea is flying too high, wanna be champ, Striker will kick his a** any day
So my view, quite simply, is no problem with the horse, big problem with the jockey

JJ got beat by 4.5 lengths, I cant see how any jock would made up the difference.
Whilst I had my doubts about Shea on JJ I can't see how Striker would have done any better. It was JJ's first run in top level company so anyone who says JJ is better than the run is guessing.
Im not writing JJ off but the July Cup is going to be even tougher with Scenic Blast and Paco Boy in the mix...

South African raider J J The Jet Plane finished fourth when sent off 5-2 favourite to win the Group 1 Golden Jubilee Stakes over 1 200m at Royal Ascot last Saturday and his trainer Mike de Kock said: “We’re obviously disappointed but it’s a difficult result to judge - he passed some horses, then they passed him and he passed them again.
“It was really a three-furlong race because they cantered for the first three and it has long been my suspicion that he wants seven furlongs or a mile. But he’ll still go for the July Cup as it’s a stiff six furlongs there.”
J J The Jet Plane’s jockey Kevin Shea added: “We went very easily in the first couple of furlongs but I’ve no excuses. It’s just one of those in racing but I have to say it’s a bitter pill to swallow.”
The race was won by Art Connoisseur (20-1), who won last year’s Coventry Stakes, who prevailed by a neck from the American-trained Cannonball (20-1) with 33-1 shot Lesson in Humility a further 2,5 lengths back in third.
Crack Hong Kong sprinter and firm second favourite at 3-1, Sacred Kingdom, finished fifth.
De Kock expressed confidence on a website press release of feature race success over more ground with the SA sprinting champion.
“JJ The Jet Plane ran like a horse that needs more ground and he acquitted himself well,” said De Kock.
“He was outpaced but came back strongly to finish fourth, ahead of Sacred Kingdom and with lots of pace around him.”
De Kock said that JJ would probably be aimed next at Newmarket’s July Sprint.
“That is a stiff sprint and he will do well, but I will put my head on a block that we can win a feature race with him over ground.
“South African fans have no reason to be disappointed. We’re competing against the best in the world and if you watch this race objectively you will see what a good run it was from JJ The Jet Plane.
“His owners enjoyed this experience and they have looked at the result realistically. We’re looking forward to his future exploits.”
