Adios, you're entitled to your opinion but no way would I agree about Anton being a better rider...Fortune does not have to stand back one inch for any jockey.
What has happened of course is that Andrew, by his own admittance, is taking huge strain trying to win the championship given the weight limitations and as a result having to travel as much...look at his stats in the 1st 2-3 months to get an idea of the win ratio he had BEFORE he started on his travels to pursue the championship. Purely on his win ration in the Cape at the time, no-one could touch him..
The quality of a rider is not only about win ratios mate...ask the Ferrari and Mcclaren teams in this year's motor racing championship. Would you say Button is best because of his win ratio or is the more to it than that? Just a qusestion...

when one considers that this is the first season that he has ever completed in his carreer it is hard to say who would finish on top

No comparison of course Anton would take it but it is not as black and white as you make it out to be and that is what I'm getting at...
Anton's been a model jockey...Andrew??? well let's just say his has been colourful so over a career...Anton by a country mile because trainers would not have given AF a ride when he was as out of control as he was...
BUT even without that bit of useless info...
Scenario present...AF rides River Jetez to 3 wins but the filly comes in at 51 in the July so the rides goes to Anton who wins and bags a Gr 1 while AF runs 2nd on Pocket giving 7-8 kgs to Jetez...I can use a lot of other examples point is Anton has a huge adavntage because he can generally have the pick of the rides and if a top 3 or 4 year old comes in at a low weight...he'll have a real run in a group one...so again mate...it's not as black and white as you make it out to be.

Absolutely P...no doubt that Anton is a great rider and a credit to the industry but IF next season sees Andy riding around the 54KG mark it will make for an interesting challenge...

BTW the only way AF will ride 54 consistently is if he cuts his ass off
AB that is exactly the kind of response i would have got from you this time last year if i had said Andy would win the title this year...lets wait and see...

good luck to andrew for winning the title this season ,however he is simply not in the same class as striker or marcus.

with andrew winning the title and knowing all the obstacles he has overcome it doesnt say much for our young riders does it...they live in a nice comfort zone and the title means absolute shit to them...in years gone by you needed to ride 300 odd winners to win the title when around 3 or 4 jocks were chasing the coveted title..will the likes of fourie danielson the lerena boys ever have the dedication and willpower to chase down a title or will they leave it to the over 40s club of fortune marcus khan and strydom
