If in doubt ask Larry W from the R.A. I'm sure he'll be able to assist.

Thanks to Peter Gibson for email reply. below.
Dear Dave,
Yes, I was told that Karel had made a suggestion for us to consider regarding odds (which the UK model incorporates in their scoring system) and have just read some of the recent postings about the delay in getting the results out.
In respect of the latter thread, it is correct to say that Racing SA is managing the competition in-house with the support of Gold Circle who provided the IT and audit functions – naturally they have assisted us where their normal work schedules have permitted and we hope to have the audit process completed shortly. Once this is done, the updating of the leader board is automatic and will be published regularly – with Gold Circle, we are also looking at ways for entrants to check their entries online but this has yet to be concluded.
We predicted increased interest this year and anticipated that the online entry system would be the preferred method but due to some technical difficulties, a number of entrants had to resort to the manual entry system which then had to be inputted by our staff and data-capturers employed at short notice.
Given the charitable objectives of the competition, there is always the danger of the cost of production exceeding the returns to the charity hence keeping it in-house, but it is clear we will have to consider expanding the management team for future competitions.
This year, Racing SA received a number of interesting suggestions to improve the competition and we will be considering these shortly.
Regards
Peter

This is poor, how long does it take to capture the entries. It's all good doing something for charity but get it right for god sake.

tonight is the 4th race of the competition & we are all still left in the dark like mushrooms. ( or Dolly Partons tiny feet )
I'd like to take a bet that NEXT YEARS entries do not exceed this years entries due to major bungling of this year. anyone prepared to offer me odds ?

This is an amazing industry...the core is great.....our horses hold their own anywhere, our top trainers and jockeys are proven world class and yet so many of the support areas of the industry, barely qualify above 'mentally challenged'
Quite strange really!
