One thing positive is that maybe one of my expensive unraced 3 year olds will be ready to run when the hotel is built..then I can stay over and celebrate when it comes in last.

I don't see a hotel and restaurants being too happy with the flies that come with stables... How much longer will Turffontein be a training centre?

Well I hear they told all the trainers all in order nothing will change etc etc..but its just like the stuff cos tell their employees just before they merge and then 6 months down the line say bye bye.

What I battle to understand is why has no trainer purchased Buddys training farm..the bond would be the same as their stable rent.

Hey Pirates, maybe you should know the facts before you blame Mr Ferraris for the whole lights saga - for your info this is what transpired.

I will mention no names however the facts will speak for themselves.

Mr Ferraris was approached by a trainer who was not happy with the errection of the lights.
A trainers meeting was called on the 16/02/07 (by this same trainer)
The following statements were made at this meeting:
WE ARE GOING NOWHERE
LIGHTING IS GOING TO BE AN INCONVENIANCE
DANGEROUS DURING ERRECTION PROCESS
GET AN INTERDICT
STRIKE ON RACE DAY NOM AND ACCEPT THEN DONT RACE
VOTE OUT RA BOARD
SPEND 60 MILLION ON FILTH AND DUMP LIKE TURFFONTEIN
WE EITHER GO THE WHOLE HOG OR NOT AT ALL WE MUST TAKE A STAND

The decision was taken to get an interdict, monies were paid, lawyers were contacted and this was going ahead full steam - ha ha Mr Ferraris was not the ring leader.

The next moment trainers were visited one by one and they withdrew appeals one at a time.

(what was said to these trainers, who knows but some ring leaders are now other leaders) I smell a RAT

However Mr Ferraris is not a man to be forced to back down when he believes in something, he had spoken to the surrounding residents and given them his word he would fight this battle for them - what kind of a man would he be if he did not follow through with his word.

Let the truth be known that the OLD man is a man with backbone and once he gives his word he will not back down.

So go right ahead and blame him for the whole lights saga - whislt the real instigator sits back in the shadows.

SHAME ON YOU

Lol Oscar. Phumelela have been in the business of making money out of property for years. Consider Newmarket, Germiston and the situation in the Eastern Cape. I recall a few years ago hearing a representative speaking on the radio and indicating that the share price, then around R8 per share was backed up by the value of property it held.

Wake up it's been done a million times before. It's called selling the family silver. All that is done is they sell off the land to a developer who next to insurance salesmen fall just behind used car dealers.
The developer usually has somebody in town planing in his pocket and by the time the building is built they will start asking for the stables to be moved and complain to the heath dept.etc
Also the deal will be they pay 10% or so and the balance on development.Nice you get the land in 2015 at 2009 price.
BUT WHY?
Because the share price will move up and that is what corporate fundis are about.
This type of person is the cause of the world recession.
All smoke and mirrors.
