The only issue with reserve days, if they are implemented, is that certain jocks have to ride at different venues in other provinces as they are stable jocks for certain trainers and certain trainers have horses in KZN and JHB.

A good example is Charles Laird and Anton Marcus. Anton rides in KZN and JHB and Charles has horses in training in KZN and JHB.

This means that if Marcus is in JHB and they try to cut costs, he cannot ride the horse for Laird in KZN in the delayed meeting which will lead to another novice jock being put on the horse which might be the odds on favourite and loses then everyone starts bitching and moaning again that they lost money coz the jock didn't ride the horse properly and it would have won if Marcus was on board.

Another thing is that JHB racing is on Thursdays and Saturdays and KZN on a Wednesday. If the meeting is posponed to a Friday, then it means Marcus will have to fly up and down from JHB to Durbs and back in 3 days. Another cost. Who pays for their plane tickets then? Owners who pay trainers thats who.
