listening to RF in the last interview...getting out of the gates helped Bytheliteofthemoon today...as it did for Mount Anderson who pinged it today, normally has to come from far back

a lot more nuances on a Turf track that although rated as very soft, had very fast times today, although I don't know the average times. See Frodo's reference to the distance being too short for StMB...
Polytracks are meh, in that they often compact the field...
The saying...horses for courses

MY AMI BEACH was selected for the taking of specimens for TCO2. testing. The first specimen revealed a level of over 35 TCO2. mmol/L. Trainer E Kaknis was advised that, in terms of the Procedure for Total Carbon Dioxide (TCO2) analysis on Raceday, a second blood specimen would be collected. Trainer E Kaknis was informed that the second blood specimen had revealed a level above the threshold of 37 mmol/L and that consequently MY AMI BEACH was scratched from this race in terms of the provisions of Rules 72.1.23; 4.2.14 and 4.2.18. (Withdrawn at 13h07, 20/1 in the betting). MY AMI BEACH was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer E Kaknis was advised (Dr E Reynders)

Good to see this level of detail in the stipes report.

In view of the performance of SPLICETHEMAINBRACE (R Fourie) (Betting 33/20; Distance 8.25 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
Trainer AC Greeff was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables.
