2 years 7 months ago
Pls note , Turffontein Pen reading at 6:30am was 25.
Since then we have had 5mm of rainfall and it’s still currently raining.
Further rainfall is predicted throughout the day and a decision as to whether we go ahead tomorrow or postpone until Sunday will be made around 4pm this afternoon.

Following a notice by Rand Water that the supply of water to Turffontein 🇿🇦 race course will be affected due to major repairs to their supply pipeline from 6pm tonight for a period of thirty hours, together with the forecast of more rain tonight and thunderstorms tomorrow, a decision has been taken to postpone the Turffontein 🇿🇦race meeting for Saturday, 5th November to Sunday, 6th November.

Brandon’s selections
Turffontein Racing, Sunday 06th November 2022
Race 1
Fostinovo should be very hard to beat in this race. The money was down first time for this individual, his a lovely looking horse and I think we can ignore his 2nd run completely. He will have every chance here to win. I make the danger Melech, watch the market and watch him move down to the start.
Race 2
The talk and the money is for Sea Anemone, a very well bred filly! She could be very hard to beat here. Mighty Goddess is the danger, she is improving with every run and will be right there.
Race 3
I'm big on Quantum Theory. His a very smart 3 year old, it was a lovely come back run last time and I do believe over 1400m he can go with some of the best. I'm going to banker Quantum Theory in all my bets.
Race 4
A very good race to open up the pick six. I'm going with Meridius here. He will love the step up in trip and he should be hard to beat. All the form points to Meridius. The dangers will be Atticus Finch and Ignatius. Both horses are improving and could be anything.
Race 5
I'm strong on Desert Miracle! I've been waiting for this filly to sprint and I firmly believe she will do pace work here. She has a devastating turn of foot and hopefully we get to see something spectacular😉. I'm going to banker Desert Miracle in all my bets.
Race 6
A very competitive race on paper. I'm going to try narrow it down to 3 horses. Big Burn, Iphiko and Flowerbomb. Big Burn on her day, she always has a winning chance, she needed her last run. Iphiko is very very fast, she will try get away from them at the 400. My outsider for the race is Flowerbomb. She really quickened up beautifully last time. Please include her into all your bets.
Race 7
A wide open race on paper. Many horses will be using this race as a prep for bigger and better things to come. Sparkling Water is the obvious horse to beat, she might just need it though and I'm sure the Betway Summer Cup will be her mission. William Robertson must be included, his fit and if he gets the 1800m, he will be right there in the finish. Another horse I would include is Nebraas. He ran a great race last time and I'm expecting further improvement. In my exotics I've also included Outofthedarkness and Perfect Witness.
Race 8
Nothing stands out for me here. I'm probably going to go field in all my bets. Alfaatik, Go Dream Machine and Flag Bearer are probably the horses to focus on, but I'm not strong on anything.
Race 9
Again it looks quite tricky! Sylvan Theater, Stella Et Clavis, Billy Spellbound, Black Egret, Puerto Plata and Sharapova all need to be included into your bets. Very tricky on paper.
Suggested Double Play
Quantum Theory
Desert Miracle
Suggested Pick Six
2 / 3 / 4
2
1 / 9 / 12
1 / 2 / 4 / 5 / 13 / 17
FIELD (
1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 6 / 12
Have fun and hit them hard!😉

After all the 'experts' have had their say (and I haven't listened to the podcasts, so these are mine own thoughts) - let's be frank though and state that I have not exactly been 'cleaning up' in the last weeks ..... and I won't be playing today
R2: No matter how big the rumours are, a first-time odds-on shot can win without my money (so I would oppose her)
R3: Antigua Night - I am ignoring her last run and at the weights and at the price, I make her a decent each-way shout
R4: More open than the betting suggest - at the odds, I would be opposing Meridius
R5: I think Moonshiningthrough will take some beating - Gav can't make the weight, so I'm not reading too much into riding arrangements - Desert Miracle worth opposing at the odds
R6: Open - I'd be opposing Iphiko - think the in the prevailing softer conditions, she will not find it as easy to blitz off to the front and hold on
R7: Can't have Sparking Water at the weights - to me Perfect Witness the right one at the weights and good value at the odds
Not sold on anything in the last two races.
Enjoy
