Re: The Vaal, Tuesday 12 January
4 years 5 months agoFinally a slide - but guess what only up for a minute - now back to picture of track and music - I'm certain that years ago a scroll would run saying" Racing delayed decision at 16h45 on race 8" - They are so so very amateur - Is there not one Racing Man left at Teletrack?

CnC maybe you could help here.
I stay miles away from betfair. Never had an account and never will.
Did not follow the trading volume but the fav on Betfair was Stormy Winter at 22/10 and the original fav Eagle Alley started 5/2 .....finished last beaten around 25 Lengths
Should be vet report

I don't claim to be able to judge a horse's chances on the way they go down to the start (and I know guys like Pirho is real shrewed when it comes to that) - but when I saw Eagle Alley going down to the start, I thought he was going down very short - now if a novice like myself can pick that up, that would explain the drift - question is though did no one connected to the horse (or the vet) saw that - or did the jock not fell anything wrong - or am I just imagining things ?

Definitely a vet report and they will find something wasn't right.
But when wasn't something right?
Did it get injured in the race or did something go wrong leading to the race and the bookies got hold of the info and gave you Eagle Alley 3 times it's original price?
Yes there was money for the winner but probably as that was the only horse that could beat the drifting favorite.
We will never know the true outcome as our stipes don't want to show our horse racing has a chance of being rigged.

I agree with you Frodo it didn't go down well.
The studio presenter said something along the lines that it's magnificent so not everyone picked it up.
Does it always go down like that?
If not then there was probably something wrong before the race and like you said neither the jockey, trainer or vet picked up a problem with the horse.
Makes me wonder how many times we hear in the stipes report that the horse was lame or not striding out and it was injured before the race and nobody picked it up.
