The Bayou

MOGOK - Blue Bayou by Foveros.

Foveros was an 8-time Leading Sire in South Africa (1988, 1990-91, 1993-97). Leading Broodmare Sire in South Africa. Stood at Scott Brothers Stud.

Astonished that his horse took so long to win a race.

KZN has a lot of Poly racing. lafferty yard seems to avoid Polytrack.

only 24 (12 of 34 horses raced this season) runners this season on Poly for 1 winner. vs. 100 plus runners on Turf at the 2 KZN track for 7 winners.

RED RAY - Friday's Child by National Emblem.

Friday's Child dam Child Model ran 2nd Golden Slipper Stakes (SAF-G2) and is by champion sire Red Ray whose dam Nacarat produced full brother Brutal Force at a price of R4 500 000 the new South African record. Not forgetting the colt Kingvoldt.

Child Model is by Model Man.
Red Ray is a new sire and can’t be called a champion sire. He is by champion sire Western Winter.

Well said Peter. This proclaiming of champion sires irks me. The previous owner liked doing this and introduced some champions that will forever be remembered :

Albert Hall
Requiem
Warm White Night

Soupmeat brigade - I fancy this will be similar

What irks me is people who always attribute agenda or project intent to clear mistakes .I, reading this for the first time see that poster corrected mistake to “ champion sire Western Winter” after Peter pointed out the incorrectness of the statement without additional comment. I can’t see any logical reason you would suspect the poster was really trying to attribute champion status to a sire having a single runner at this stage
Happy new year ...clearly the last one left you miserable.
