Even if Erik The Red was placed a bit closer it wouldn't have beaten the Drier horse.
Erik The Red not as good as many thought if a 40-1 can beat it for 3rd.

I dont think he is as good as thought .... but bear in mind, Scottsville has been the undoing of many a good horse visiting the track for the first time

Seems this draw bias at Scottsville is a problem, Delta Queen dropped off them early and failed to quicken from that draw which is not how this horse runs, it likes to be close to them, seems EtR tried the same and also came unstuck.
