What odds the De Kock stable for the trifecta and quartet in the Summer Cup?
Did Tarry or Snaith not do this in a feature race at some time?

teresting insights regarding Gauteng Chris Gerber Summer Cup day on Saturday at Turffontein in the DSTV panel discussion on Wednesday evening. .

NOVEMBER 27, 2019
The panel comprised Dom Zaki (DZ), Matthew Briton(MB), Gaby Soma (GS), Gavin Lerena(GL), Sean Tarry(ST), Gavin van Zyl(GVZ), and Mike de Kock(MDK), and was hosted by Clyde Basel.

Race 1 Maiden (F&M) 1400m

MDK: “Acorn Alley has a lot to do. I’m surprised she’s so short in the betting”

ST: “Temenee was green on debut. She may need the experience but will be thereabouts”

GL: “The first timer Sovereignty gives me a nice feel but may need it”

Race 2 Rudra Maiden Plate

DZ: “Viper Jet opened 4-1 and is now 22-10. He was never a 4-1 shot. Mohican is the obvious danger”

GS: “Box 4 5 10 and 15 for the quartet as many times as you like”

Race 3 Metro FM Maiden Plate

GS: “Bellagio King has been gelded and is the one to beat”

DZ: “Amandla is the dark horse and will be running on”

Race 4 Magnolia Handicap (Grade 3)

ST: “Green Plains is in good order, and will be competitive. Don’t discount Desert Rhythm”

GL: “Dancing Queen moved up well last time, and will be cherry ripe on Saturday, but i’m noy happy with my draw”

Race 5 New Turf Carriers Merchants (Grade 2)

ST: “Mardi Gras has his first run for me. He has a chance but I’m not bullish. Warrior’s Rest’s work is very good”

GS: “The most difficult race on the card. Gimme A Wave is the one to beat”

DZ: “Wide open but I like Van Halen to run a huge race”

GL: “Prince Of Kahal has the will to win”

Race 6 TAB/Betting World Dingaans (Grade 2)

MDK: “Frosted Gold has proved he can run. Marshall is a big scopey horse with a nice pedigree. He has his issues but a very smart horse.

GL: “Shango has a lot to do”

ST: “Eden Roc needed his last two and is a big runner. For me John Hancock could be the lurker”

Race 7 Gauteng Chris Gerber Summer Cup(Grade 1)

MDK: “Soqrat is a genuine Grade 1 horse. He still has to get the 2000m at Turffontein, which is a question mark. Barahin reminds me a lot of Rudra. He gets the trip, and may be best on a soft track. Cascapedia is well in at the weights, and always has a chance. Atyaab probably wants further, but is in good form. Queen Suprems is under sufferance, but I don’t need to protect her rating any longer. Now we need to see if she’s up to Grade 1 level.”

ST: “Gelding has helped Zillzaal, and two of my three winners of this race Aslan and Liege have come into it off a flat run like he has. I am leaning towards Al Mutawakel of my four – he took off in the final furlong of the Victory Moon, but they are quite closely matched.”

GVZ: “Marchingontogether has to prove himself at this level, and I would be delighted if he could manage to run fourth”

GS: “Barahin was impressive last time, and I make him the horse to beat. For the quartet float 1 and 2 with 11 14 and 20”

DZ: “Barahin is my first choice. Soqrat, Queen Supreme and Cascapedia to follow. Mike (De Kock) has a very strong hand.”

Race 8 WSB Ipi Tombe Challenge (Grade 2)

ST: “In The Dance is a very good filly. She’ll run well and will be thereabouts.”

GS: “In The Dance is the one to beat. Dangers are Schippers and Vistula”

DZ: “I don’t like the three year old form. I’m also in the camp of In The Dance”

Race 9 RA Handicap (Listed)

MDK: “Noble Secret has had a breathing issue, and has been a bit disappointing, but our staying ranks are thin”

GS: “Noble Secret and Tirzan look the two here”

Ok i guess the Pick 6 is the focus and could pay bombs, having the correct banker is the key

Race 4 and 5 i guess we need plenty.
Race 6 its either Frosted Gold or Eden Roc
Race 7 its either soqrat or barahin
Race 8 and 9 you need a few

Don't want to make it easy for you.

Good Punting

There seems to be some vibe for the Summer Cup this year. Just a little, but some. Different to years past.

My try at that P6:

1,2,5,6,7,12,15
1,2,5,7,10,12,13,15,16
2,4
1,2,7,14
2
1,2,3,4,5,7,8

I see according to SAHorseracing Fayd'herbe won't be riding due to flight complications - if correct, Gav will probably take the ride on Barahin ?
