What a shambles. It is now quite clear why an agenda was not sent out prior to the meeting. This was an all out assault on Kenilworth racing. Run by clowns a comment from the chair. Kenilworth Racing is clearly a mess and needs a proper person in charge says Mike de Kock. No wonder Robert Bloomberg didnt attend, he was clearly aware of what was coming and didn't want to experience the public humiliation. Hassen Adams been given the floor to assassinate Bloomberg's character and "has got the documents to prove it" waving these around but not distributing anything was disgraceful and patently unfair on Bloomberg who could not defend himself.. Leaves meeting after telling all and sundry what an upstanding guy Robert is. Stakes definitely being reduced but no details given and will be announced at a later date. De-merging all over the agenda but no real detail given. Flamingo closing not the work of the lily-white RA. Larry had no clue as to how many members the WC RA has and what their contribution was.
An absolute abomination of a meeting. I'm still trying to figure out why it was held and what the real purpose was. Settling personal scores gets my vote. To illustrate my point as to the shambles, the handed out agenda was as follows:
1. Overview of the RA's involvement in the WC
2. Structure
3. Demerger Agreement
4. RA role in demerger agreement
5. RA final contribution to the WC
6. Stakes
7. RA current state of affairs in the WC
8. RA members and patrons raceday experience in the WC
9. General
Eish.....

I am told that Kenilworth Racing board had representation in the audience but absolutely no comment was made throughout. There's clearly friction at the minute.

Did not follow this?
Was it meant to read himself rather than Robert?
Thanks for updates

Dave Adams had a lot to say and none of it good about Bloomberg. There were allegations made, and Adams said he had proof thereof, he waved a stack of papers around to imply that these contained proof of the allegations he was making. My point is he left the meeting shortly after his rant and never shared this information he had. So while he may have something he may also have had nothing. My point is I think it poor form that the outburst was allowed without the man being present to refute and or defend himself. Im not repeating the allegations because they were serious and if Bloomberg takes legal action let it be against Adams not me.

Sad to see Mike de Kock being used to try add credibility to this bunch.

There are a lot of people on the National board of the RA Len that weren't present. I didn't see Werners, Savage, Leaf. What was evident was that Mike de Kock was not there officially in an RA presence. He was part of the crowd, not on Larrys table that only had the CTS Jooste guy I cant remember his name.
Also there was only your corpulant mate there from Phumelela. No Patrick Davis, just Basel. I suppose that it takes some time to heal after being thrown under a bus.

OTA were you actually even there or did you just get 2nd hand info and try to mould yourself into 1 of the attendees ?
If you were there - then you would have been quite aware of the following FACTS :
1. You say ' absolutely no comment was made ' by the Kenilworth Racing Board present. Jono Snaith got up and spoke at least 3 - 4 times - once on a lengthy occasion questioning the RA budgets for WC Racing vs the R 1,2 million annual budget for Gauteng raceday entertainment, facilities etc.
2. It was Mike de Kock that called the whole setup a clown show - not Larry. De Kock was at the back of the audience, Larry at a table in front with Wehann Smith. Not difficult to determine who said what.
3. Hassen Adams clearly divulged the alleged info during his TWO protracted rants. Let's be honest here - your hesitation to ' repeat the allegations ' has absolutely nothing to do with legal action being taken against you - it's because you don't actually know what was said.
By all means though - if you think I am out of line, then please feel free to elaborate on the stakes structure and how WC fits into the RA contribution agreement. Larry spent quite a bit of time on that, so you shouldn't have any problems relaying that info.

There is no credibility here.
You have to wade through gossip and hear-say just to try and figure out who the players are and what their agenda is, and for all that nothing of what they say leads you to really feel who they represent.
There is power at play, but who knows on behalf of whom and to accomplish what.
What we do know for sure is that when money is flowing, then this shit doesn't happen, so somehow this is about the money, and who gets to allocate it, and to whom. Someone please say "It ain't so"?
If Mike de Kock says it's a failure of leadership, I think he's partly right. The other part is that leadership cannot succeed if it has no plan, or direction, or whatever the latest flavour of motivation is called.
I like metaphors, so the big flock of sheep (just play along) has no idea which big sheep (leader) to follow because we can smell carnivore (wolf in sheep's clothing) all over these mothers (?).
Most of the time we stare at these mothers (?) wondering, what fucking piece of racing are YOU trying to get signed over into your name?
We used to have "stewardship" rather than "leadership" in racing, or directorship for that matter. And to think I thought THAT was a bad idea. We also thought running some like a "business" made it a business. Most parts of racing is NOT a business. And you don't want it to be a business because then you will get to having to deliver dividends.
"Stewardship means to hold something in trust for another. ... Stewardship is described by Peter Block as the willingness to be accountable for the well being of the larger organization by operating in service, rather than in control, of those around us.

Suely between the meeting where the "saviours" got together and last nights meeting.
There should be an agenda and set of minutes issued to clarify the situation and reduce the speculation.
It should be published as a press release from RA or Phumelela.
