4 x group ones in Ireland today at the Curragh
Only PINATUBO sticks out and should make it 5 from 5 at short odds

Pinatubo produced the defining race of Irish Champions Weekend with a destructive performance to win the Group 1 Vincent O’Brien National Stakes at the Curragh for Charlie Appleby, William Buick and Godolphin.

Rarely has the sheer scale of superiority of one runner over the rest of the field been so obvious in a Group 1, with 1-3 favourite Pinatubo moving effortlessly through to lead with just over two furlongs to go and then exploding clear of his rivals with a furlong and a half to go. He annihilated them.

The banker treble lands easily and Sottsass is the biggest threat to the Queen come the Arc - had an absolutely nightmare passage and still got up to win with a smart turn of foot.

Pinatubo is the best 2yo I've ever seen and is simply a total rocket.

Also in France, two more winners on trials day in Star Catcher and City Light!

so another good day on a great weekend of racing - bring the Arc on now!

Sottsass, considering that he ran after 3 months and never given a punishing ride with all the trouble that he had will be a threat in the Arc. Rouget will be hoping for his first Arc win.

Deirdre the most unluckiest horse of the weekend. Will have gotten if she had a clear run. Needs to be supplemented for the Arc.
