RACE 1 :

1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :

4 / 12 / 9 / 1

●ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 3 and 4 - COZY CHESTNUT & SUN UP : Cozy Chestnut didn’t have the luckiest of local debuts losing her jockey, she can hopefully improve. Sun Up ran well on her local debut and does have a winning chance.

●TARA LAING - Number 12 - THOKZINE : She ran a good race in her last and must have a good chance.

DUNCAN MCKENZIE - Number 1 - KEEPING SECRETS : She could want a touch further, but will run well.

SHARON KOTZEN - Number 2 - ANGEL JOLEE : She was a bit disappointing last time out with the blinkers on for the first time, so we have decided to exchange them for cheekpieces. She’s back a furlong which should suit her better and we are hoping for a better effort.

CANDICE BASS-ROBINSON (comments prior to travel) - Number 5 - MARIE ANTOINETTE : She is a nice looking filly and shows great work, but battles to round her races off. We’re hoping for improvement.

JACQUES STRYDOM - Numbers 6 and 13 - GRACI LITEHOUSECAT & TRUMPETS : Hoping for improvement from Graci Litehousecat. Trumps has her first run and will need the experience.

GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 9 and 11 - GINGER ROCK & ROCKINGTHEDISTRICT : Ginger Rock showed nice improvement in her last and has a place chance. Rockingthedistrict has her first run and if not too green could place.

GEORGE UREN - Number 10 - MARK MY WORDS : I was very disappointed in her first run and can only hope she improves as I do believe her capable of better.

RACE 2 :

1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :

2 / 1 / 3 / 4

GAVIN SMITH - Number 1 - KLEVER KATHY : She is in peak form and will be thereabouts in a competitive little field.

ALAN GREEFF - Number 2 - MADAME SPEAKER : She is consistent and will be right there again.

CANDICE BASS-ROBINSON (comments prior to travel) - Number 4 - WESTERN ANGEL : She is a decent filly and ran a better race over 1400m last time out. It’s hard to get a line on her through PE’s well performed three year old fillies here, but she’s not out of it.

SHARON KOTZEN - Number 5 - BEAUTIFUL BEAT : She takes her chances in a very tough little field as there are no other races for her at the moment and here she does line up in her age group and same sex company. She has shown improvement, but could be better on the Poly.

RACE 3 :

1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :

3 / 2 / 1 / 5

CANDICE BASS-ROBINSON (comments prior to travel) - Number 3 - BIG FISH : He will enjoy the long run in, he is always doing his best work late and he has a winning chance.

SHARON KOTZEN - Number 5 - MINDMYMOOOOD : He has the draw to his advantage. He always tries his best, enjoys the mile and is regularly thereabouts.

GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 4 and 7 - PEKING TYSON & REYMUNDO : Peking Tyson needs to jump on terms, if so he can be competitive. Improvement is expected from Reymundo.

RACE 4 :

1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :

4 / 9 / 7 / 8

ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 2, 4 and 8 - WESTERN WU, GREEN LANTERN & WISH TO LAND : Western Wu ran an improved race in his last and can get closer. Green Lantern has found form, is running well and will be competitive again. Wish to Land ran a poor race last time out, is better than that and will put in a better effort.

CANDICE BASS-ROBINSON (comments prior to travel) - Number 9 - BEN-HUR : He will enjoy the long run in and has an each way chance.

JACQUES STRYDOM - Numbers 3 and 6 - DESERT WISDOM & FRIKKIE : Both are decent sorts but definitely want a bit further, they could perhaps pop up to place.

GRANT PADDOCK - Numbers 5 and 7 - LORD MARSHAL & PROSPECT STRIKE : Lord Marshal is holding form and has a place chance. Prospect Strike has come on from his last run and is expected to be thereabouts.

GAVIN SMITH - Number 10 - STORY OF MY LIFE : He ran a good race in his last and has a quartet chance.

RACE 5 :

1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :

8 / 1 / 2 / 6

JACQUES STRYDOM - Number 8 - PACHUCO : He will be better suited up in trip, is working well and has a place chance.

GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 1 and 10 - SEATTLE SWING & SUNDAY FALLS : Both fellows enjoy track and trip. Seattle Swing is a quartet runner.

SHARON KOTZEN - Numbers 2 and 5 - DESERT CHIEF & THE GOON SHOW : Desert Chief has to have his mind on the job but at his current handicap he is starting to become competitive again. He enjoys the mile and we are hoping he follows up on his good last. The Goon Show also enjoys the 1600m and acts on either Poly or Turf. He had excuses for his last and back from a short break, if he doesn’t just need it he can run well.

GRANT PADDOCK - Numbers 3 and 6 - SAY NO MORE & KEANAN’S ROCK : Say no More tries further and must improve. Keanan’s Rock is holding form and has a place chance.

TARA LAING - Numbers 4 and 7 - LEADMAN & KISS ME TWICE : Leadman has been disappointing of late, he has dropped in the ratings though, so if he brings his best game he must have a bit of a chance. Kiss me Twice was pulling hard in his last. He tries a tongue tie and we are expecting a better run.

RACE 6 :

1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :

6 / 1 / 5 / 9

ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 6 and 10 - IN A PERFECT WORLD & FORT VIVA : In a Perfect World has a winning chance. Hoping for better from Fort Viva who ran a poor last race, he may prefer Poly though.

GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 1, 4 and 11 - EVOLVER, CHAPPAQUIDDICK & SESS : Evolver is holding form nicely and should be right there. Chappaquiddick has needed his last few and improvement is expected. Hoping for improvement from Sess.

SHARON KOTZEN - Numbers 3 and 8 - MULTI GOLD & ANGEL OF ATHENS : Multi Gold was very disappointing in his last, he is definitely better than that and hopefully was just having an off day. Angel of Athen takes on the boys, she ran a good race in her last and will be better suited to the 2000m trip here.

TARA LAING - Number 5 - ARANJUEZ : He has run two good races on the Poly and we are expecting even better now on turf.

JACQUES STRYDOM - Number 9 - CAPE LEOPARD : He will be better suited up in trip and can earn.

RACE 7 :

1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :

1 / 3 / 2 / 5

TARA LAING - Number 2 - ALAMITO BAY : His form has been consistent and he must a runner.

GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 4 and 8 - BORN A BULLY & PEPPER DUST : Born a Bully needed his last. This is the right track and trip for Pepper Dust but it is a competitive line up.

JACQUES STRYDOM - Number 9 - RIBOVAR : First for the yard, hoping for improvement.

DUNCAN MCKENZIE - Number 11 - PERFECT PEACE : It’s a rough race, but he is at his best over 1000m.

RACE 8 :

1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :

3 / 4 / 8 / 2

ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 2, 3, 7, 8, 11, 13 and 15 - AMAJORY, SHEPARD’S DELIGHT, MEGA SCENE, BUTTERFLY SPIRIT, CLIFTON BEACH, VICTORIOUS DIVA & NICOLE : Amajory has managed a few fair efforts of recent and can place. Shepard’s Delight ran a much improved race and we’re hoping she repeats it. Butterfly Spirit will run well. Victorious Diva’s form suggests that she is capable of better than what she managed in her last, so hoping she can get back on track. Hoping for better from all of Clifton Beach, Mega Scene and Nicole.

SHARON KOTZEN - Number 4 - ELUSIVE STRIKE : She ran a cracker first time out for the yard and we are hoping she can follow up.

TARA LAING - Numbers 5 and 6 - COUNTLESS AWARDS & GOTOLUVHER : Countless Awards was very disappointing last time out, she runs here over 1200m again but probably is now looking for a little further. Gotoluvher would probably prefer 1000m.

DUNCAN MCKENZIE - Numbers 9 and 14 - CURVED LIGHT & BELL TOWER : With a lack of races for her over the mile Curved Light steps back in trip here, but she has achieved well enough over 1200m. Bell Tower is also back in trip and tries blinkers in the hopes of improvement.

GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 1 and 12 - JOKING & TOUCH OF GREEN : The apprentice claim will help Joking, she has a quartet chance. Touch of Green ran a fair last and could place.

RACE 9 :

1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :

1 / 2 / 10 / 5

ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 1, 2, 5, 6, 12, 14 and 16 - DAME COMMANDER, WATSONIA, ZANZIBAR BEAT, AL’S BELLS, CAPAILL, POPINJAY & QUINELIA : Dame Commander ran out and easy winner on local debut in her last and can be there again. Watsonia is improving well and can run into quartets. Zanzibar Beat and Al’s bells are never far back and both are capable of getting a look in. Capaill could have found her last a touch far and back in trip can improve. Hoping for better from Popinjay and Quinelia.

DUNCAN MCKENZIE - Numbers 10 and 11 - BUSHY PARK, GLENNIE & AMAROSA : Bushy Park is honest and holding form well. Glennie is never far back and can also earn. Amarosa tries a tongue tie, she is back to a sprinting trip and is a bit frustrating as her work is super.

TARA LAING - Number 4 - HONEY SUITE : She would probably prefer 1000m.

GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 7 and 9 - TRIP TO IBIZA & LALENA : Trip to Ibiza can place. Better is expected from Lalena.

GRANT PADDOCK - Number 13 - DINNER DATE : Her work is a lot better than her racing, hoping for improvement.

AMAZING FORM CLICK

Cozy chestnut fell local debut...look at the amazing form in Cape town... maybe needs further but you can't get hurt at 7/2 a fixed place and include her in quartets tri and maybe a tiny exacta float with field and a bigger one with the first 5 in the betting...maybe stable SW with sun up

Did Munger get the distance wrong?
That was a mental speed he was setting upfront.
